I'd like to see what romantic ideas everyone here put forth, just for curiosity. I wound up starting my planning for my fiance back in January, and this is what I wound up doing:
The night before Valentine's day, I went to my fiance's house after work, and when I got there, told her that it was her bedtime, and had her stay in her room. Once I knew she wouldn't be able to know about my surprises for her the next day, I brought in the bouquet of a dozen red roses and my other supplies. I tied a long black ribbon about each rose in the same style as the Phantom of the Opera, and then I put one rose in a vase. For each rose she was to find, I had written a letter to her on parchment paper, and sealed the envelope with a wax seal of my own devising. I left the vase with the first rose at her bedside when she was asleep. The next one, I placed by the entrance to her room where I hung one of her dresses for her to wear the next day. Across the hall was the next one, saying to eat a good breakfast, next to which her sister placed an orange. In her bathroom I left the fourth rose and a "map", my GPS. Lastly, at her door I left the 5th note and a CD I'd made for her to listen to while she drove. The 5th note had her time of departure and clues at to her first destination, as well as the addresss that she could plug into the GPS, should she need that as well.
The day of, I dressed in my suit and wore my leather Phantom of the Opera mask, and went about setting up her next destinations before she left. There were a two stops with a couple of her friends that were helping, and the one in between those two friends was my house where my brother and father made sure she got that note and rose. Her ninth stop was meeting a very zany friend of mine who decided it would be fun for him to meet her all in black with a trench coat, top hat, and eye patch on. After that, she went to my workplace where one of my friends I work with led her to the next two notes. Then, I waited at the last stop, her favorite restaurant, wearing suit and mask, with the last rose. I tied a ring I got for her to the rose with the ribbon upon in and waited for her arrival. After we had dinner, I took her to the hotel room I set up which had candles strewn about, and rose petals that I sprinkled onto the bed.
So, what other fun ideas did people come up with for their sweethearts? I know mine was rather involved, but I'd like to know what others did.
