She wasn't sure who else to call for something like this, she wasn't sure what she was going to say yet in all truth, she wanted to just go home and hide. Alas they wouldn't let her drive herself anywhere, or call a cab, they wanted her to stay with a friend and wouldn't let her leave unless someone came and picked her a** up. Honestly doctors were such pushy people, lest they had take her at her word so far, thank goodness for that. Otherwise she'd be in some real trouble.

Kalika was still pissed though, of all things she had to be hit by a bloody car, with her attitude it would have figured, and made more sense, that someone would kill her in anger or even for revenge. But noooooo, she got hit by a drunk-off-their-a** teenager. She's been unlucky in the fact she got carted to the hospital, really lucky though that nothing been broken or even scrapped. So by the time she relived it was half believable that the lovely staff of nurses and doctors had brought her back. From there is a case of even more luck, her lack of injuries being explained away. Lack of broken bones because she didn't go under the car and the idiot had served last second. lack of contusions becuase she was in leather so her outfit took the abuse instead of her skin. They still made her stay over night before saying she could leave.

The very, very, unlucky part was her life was so messed up now, and she so badly needed a drink. Which lead to her trying to leave the hospital, which put her on the phone with a nurse trying to discreetly monitor her. No one else had come to mind really, out of the people she knew, and even few numbers she had, he was possibly her safest bet, even if she didn't want to have to tell him anything. "Pick up Joe, pick up..." Her mutter was a plea, boarding on praying by this point.

Joe's cell phone was ringing. Putting a hand in his pocket, the Watcher leaned against the bar and covered his other ear with his free hand to cut out the bar noises.

"Dawson," he said.

There was a pause, mostly because suddenly she wanted to hang up and try someone else, but that would be cowardly and that was something she wasn't. "Hey, it's Kali, could you be willing to pick me up from the hospital, they won't let me take a taxi since that whole I died problem." Her own words made her cringe, she needed to think some things over before she spoke, really she did, little late to fix that now. "And if this nurse keeps staring at me I'm gonna jump her." That was more said to get the nurse to go the hell away, and it worked as the poor woman stammered something about papers and scuffled out of the room which still pulled a short lived smile from Kalika.

"You... died?" Joe said, stunned. He was going to kick MacLeod's a** -- metaphorically, of course -- for not telling him about Kalika. He expected that of Methos, but Mac?

"Stay put," Joe said. "I'm sending someone to get you." He shot a meaningful look at Duncan, who was watching him curiously from the other end of the bar.

"Yes died, as in was dead, deaded, deader than a...dead thing." A shrug on the past one, not that she cared he couldn't see her actions, otherwise suppressed a sigh. "I'll be in the main lobby, whoever you get to pick me up has to sign me out." Part of that were papers agreeing to watch Kali for 24 hours in-case she had a head injury, even though she told them she was peachy. A pause a moment before she sis sigh, "Thanks Joe." Because really there had been no one else to call, that whole lack of friend base.

MacLeod pulled into the hospital's main parking lot, silently cursing his own sense of duty and fair play. As a pre-Immortal, Kalika was unstable enough as it was. As an Immortal... It didn't bear speculating on.

Parking, Mac strode into the lobby, picking up on the Immortal buzz immediately. He looked around cautiously.

She thought she was plenty stable enough, but her sense of stable and other's were vastly different apparently, but hey shehadn't caused blood shed in almost a year now, she was proud of herself for that, still. Though this this happening there was the thought of finding the idiot teenager and running his a** over, and maybe this nurse while she was at it. They had her in a wheelchair, and the nurse honestly scolded her like she was a little kid when she had tried to get up. Her excuse was there was a snack machine, not the nurse seemed to care. The warning buzz got her to sigh, she was going to hate that, she could tell already, it was as bad as wearing a collar.

Duncan MacLeod spotted Kali across the lobby, looking daggers at the attending nurse from her wheelchair, and he strode quickly toward her. A welcoming expression on his handsome face, he called out, "Thank God, you're all right, Kali!"

Kali had to blink, Duncan, really, why did Joe have to send him, he was like scary nice, none the less she smiled, would be bad to looked annoyed to see him. Not that she was really annoying, it was just surprising she supposed. "Well you know me, gotta be around to annoy people." Not the most sentimental answer, but hey it was truthful, still got the nurse to huff. So the hospital staff did not understand her lack of care, she had died, for a lengthy time, and acted like nothing at all happened. No the staff didn't understand at all, which didn't seem to matter to Kali.

The nurse seemed genuinely pleased to see MacLead and offered a bright smile, the thought of being rid of the troubling patient on top of the scenery suddenly managed to improve her mood a great deal. She had a clipboard with the appropriate sign-out papers and warnings, the bill already being taken care of by Kali herself. "Hello, I take it you're to escort Miss. Hellfires? There's just a few things, if you could look them over, with the possibility of unknown brain and organ damage and her refusal to have more necessary tests done."

Duncan took the clipboard and made a show of leafing through the paperwork. "I see," he murmured, then gave the nurse a sunny smile. "I promise to keep an eye out for any sign of trauma, thank you, nurse."

He signed the release form, then said to Kali with concern, "Can you walk?"

Her answer on that was with a huff to accent some annoyance, "I'm not broken." Yes she knew there needed to be some appearances but honestly she was getting out of this wheelchair now. So standing still made her cringe, but then they hadn't let her stand for more than a few seconds at a time, Kali at least resisted the urge to stick her tongue out at the nurse. "I still say I'm too hard headed for brain damage, they won't listen to me. So we're leaving now." It wasn't a question given with that she went to walk herself out of the hospital.

The nurse really could only stare at Kali like she was completely crazy, "But it's hospital policy to leave the building..." She trailed off realizing that it just wasn't going to happen, and truthful the faster the woman was gone the better her day was going to be. So with that the nurse could only shake her head and walk off to file the papers.

Duncan gave the nurse an apologetic smile and shrug, all the while backing away toward the exit, following Kali. "What can I say?" he said. "She's always been stubborn."

Turning he hurried after Kali, catching up with her in the parking lot. The goofy smile was gone, as he led the new Immortal to his T-bird.

She was half stretching as she went, being stuck in a bed was a horrible thing, she just couldn't be that lazy apparently, she spend her days up and doing stuff with maybe five hours of sleep. Now she was really going to have crap to do, and she wasn't too sure how she felt about that yet. "Dare I ask how you go stuck picking me up?" Was a valid question, she felt, that and she wanted to break the silence, oddly nervous suddenly.

Duncan unlocked the passenger side door for Kali, then got behind the wheel. "I was in the bar when you called Joe," he said. "Considering you're Immortal now, Joe thought it would be better if I came and got you."

Starting the powerful engine, Duncan pulled out of the hospital lot. "It looks like the emergency doctors are going to decide your death diagnosis was a result of 'human error.'" He glanced sideways at her as he drove. "How are you holding up?"

It would have been pointless to refuse to sit in the car, though there had been that split second consideration. None the less she fell into silence even with with his question to her, clearly needing to think a moment before she sighed. "I don't know yet." Well she was honest with her words at least, even if she had a ring of amusement in them.
