They don't.
The meta decks are the decks that win.
The duellists you notice are the ones that win.
There are thousands of other duellists using other decks but because they aren't the current top decks they are not making the top places and are not being noticed.
Stop complaining about the meta decks, if they weren't the top decks other decks would be and you'd be complaining about them instead.
Don't blame the players, the game is currently not balanced as it never has been. It will take at least another year, probably longer, to make the game level enough for enough decks to be meta and equal that you don't notice certain decks winning all the tournaments.

Once again you misunderstoo everything that was said..
its not the players...
its not the decks...
its the fact that the ONLY chance you have of winning is to imitate the most popular decks.
it doesnt matter you or i say.i find it childish that you actualy had to make a thread in your guild so that you could say what you wanted knowing that you'd get the support,but its whatever like i said i didnt care...
continue doing what you've always done and enjoy yourself.

people are scrard or dont want to lose so that use decks like blackwing / lightsworn /glads to make shure thay win.. this is why im using a deck nobody has made or knows how to use (that i know of)

People seem to go straight to a condescending tone in this guild.
That is childish.
I'm sure more than one person has complained in the way Jevan is addressing, if it doesn't apply to you, there is no reason to respond.

my deck just matches my multiple emo-swings.
i don't care if i win or lose. and i can care less about being a top rank duelist. i am here for the game itself. ego's get in the way of what u like doing than it's not worth it in my opinion.

So wait when did this argument start again?
Just to be clear I'm not picking side I'm just going to give my stance on it.
Really a big problem with the meta is that it only takes into account these big events. No local, no casual, nothing outside the big events.
Which explains why only a certain type of deck are being seen.
Of course this is also where the concept of tiers comes in. Much like boxing classes. Light, Medium, Heavy. Tiers, 1,2,3.
Which is why you only see a certain set of decks.
Think of it like this:
1: National- Heavy weights: LS, BW, DHZ, ect.
2: Regional- Medium Weights: LS, BW, DHZ, X-Saber, Ritual, Fairy, ect
3: Local- Light weights: LS, BW, DHZ, X-Saber, Ritual, Fairy, Fortune Lady, Hero, ect.
So much like boxing you see lower levels of attention given to lower levels of competition. Of course this means as I said before you only see that high level of deck.
Leading to the next part. It is not necessary to play a tier one deck to win unless you wish to win at tier one. Although this also means you can't always win against a stronger deck with a weaker one. Much like a lighter boxer versus a heavier boxer. Sure Ritual can swing hard at LS but in the end LS's pieces are stringer individually. Sure X-Saber can swarm the field, but Blackwing can do that and more.
In the end each top deck is merely a stronger version of a weaker one. Well at least that's my take on it.

I run everything BUT Meta. I gots an
-Archfiend deck
-Harpie Deck
-Water deck
-Crystal Beast Deck
-Warrier deck
-Batterymen Deck
Actually, My Batterymen deck has beaten Metas, and thats without the new batteries coming out

I'm gonna make this quick and simple because I like everyone else am tiring of all the arguements that have already been adressed countlesss times.
1st of all if you have an origional deck good for you I personally have several origional decks that I like,Yay origionality.But really by saying how you and a group of people have origional decks and they've beaten meta before how are you defending your case for the whole "no one is running an origional deck" thing you got started up again.Second of all if you dont care about what Jevan and others think then dont post.Lastly by saying Jevan is childish for trying to get you 3 year olds to shut up your only making yourselves look like idiots.So stop complaining and if you have a problem with something just relax and go to that happy place of depleting your opponents life points after you've utterly destroyed their entire strategy.
