To make a change from painting the armoured bit of my IG army and to procrastinate further from painting the squishy bit, I went on Bits 'n' Kits and got a bunch of bits to make an Inquisitor Lord out of.

The bits arrived much earlier than I expected (Nice for a change), meaning I got to spend the day fiddling about with the army rather than playing Modern Warfare 2.

Without further ado, have some piccys, hopefully i'll be getting a better camera for Christmas, as this one seems to do a great job of making my painting look worse than it actually is.

And yes, the mold lines will be purged with righteous fury in due time.

PS- Any ideas for a colour scheme/name for the guy?

You might want to make the join between the torso and the psycannon arm a bit more flush, it looks a wee bit shoddy right now. sweatdrop

I plan to, the picture was taken after he managed to fall over while the glue was still drying, which mucked up the milliput. Stupid Psycannon being heavier than I expected. gonk

Like I posted on the Chans, I suggest for paint you start with dark colors for the body (red, brown, dark green even) and go with a much brighter color to offset. The model doesn't have a tabard, but one greenstuffed on would look kinda cool.

Hmm, i'll have a go at a tabard while i'm re-doing the arm joint. Lets see if me and Mr. Milliput can get along for a change.

Colour-wise I'd suggest going for either something very striking such as gold or red as a base colour, or something more muted such as black with highlights of red and gold.

Gah, I may actually have to shell out for actual green stuff, milliput isn't cutting it for the thin tabard-ness.

Also, am going to be base-coating it black with ze spray paint, so i'll decide whether it'll be a red or black base from there. sweatdrop

Edit: Here's how it looks spray-painted black. Am tempted to do dark-red torso-plate an, black everything-else plate, red jointy-bits, and gold highlights here and thar.

Here's how he looks before I got too annoyed with the light in my room to keep painting.

Did a bit more on the guy, was about to start experimenting with inks, when a gigantic being appeared from the Warp.

Could this be THE END for our brave- Oh wait, he's got friends. Nevermind.

Had a few retinue expansions since the last post, bunged in my Techpriest's HB Servitors since i'll probably won't be using the poor guy for a while.

Who knows, I might actually have some of these guys finished before Christmas. Then I get to paint up their InquisiChug.
PostPosted: Thu Dec 24, 2009 2:29 am
And now for something completely different. One day 'til Christmas, and I still haven't finished the bloody knight. sweatdrop

He does however, look damn fine on a bike.
