Guy at my church said they were made outta pig fat, is this true?

I don't think that's true, but they are made from gelatin, making them non-vegetarian. User Image

There are a couple of brands of vegan marshmallows out there, but they're expensive:

But this works well for many marshmallow applications too:

For 'Smores, just glob that onto your graham cracker and dairyless chocolate and brown it with your butane torch....

Well they aren't vegetarian, that's for sure.

Just use marshmellow cream, because strangely marshmellows have gelatin in them, but marshmellow cream doesn't.

Both Jet-Puffed and Kraft marshmallow cremes have egg ingredients, so aren't vegan. The Ricemellow creme is vegan....

    Gelatin is the worst. D:
Look it up, I dare you.

I want some of these delicious-lookin' vegan marshies with my hot cocoa this winter. Yumm.

I don't know where you guys getting marshmallow anything from a store are but in Canada I can find nothing like that, but ingredients mysteriously change once you get across the boarder.... I get Sweet&Sara's Marshmallows from Vegan Essentials...
