Saw it yesterday, and it definitely ranked pretty high on the scale. A lot was similar to how it was in the novels, with only some major changes.
But I heard that Darren Shan only gave his consent provided the books were only used as interpretations, so... Yeah, it's all good. ^^

Th CGI in the trailer looked very cheap.
I haven't read the books, but they seem very interesting.
I'll have to see some reviews before watching.

Read the books first; as always, the original novels kick the movie's figurative a**.
