I pardon for the wonky quality of some of the photos but this morning has been rather taxing.

This bastion has been built with the contents from the Strongpoint boxed set where I just threw all the parts together and made things up as I went, making for a fun way to spend the evening. I present to thee, the Tiny Bastion of DOOM. Buyer beware, Vostroyans shown for scale purposes only.

I decided to break tradition and not build it as tall as those shown in the Planetstrike book, mainly because I feel like I'm different and because I don't really have the storage space for really tall terrain pieces.

Here from the side, please ignore the hatch glued there to cover up the sawn away heavy bolter crenelation. It did perfectly there but I mainly stuck it there because I couldn't find a suitable door to go there without resorting to drastic hacking and sawing.

The Bastion from the top, showing off the one design flaw I put in by accident: I envisioned the lower platform to have a quad or Icarus cannon while the upper platform would have the vox array. Sadly the funky hatchway ensures that nothing can be mounted in a great fashion on the lower platform. Oh well, s**t happens.

The vox array, it has lots and lots of fiddly bits that are quite fragile. Excellent conversion fodder for command tanks though.

The quad cannon, too weedy for a Hydra but still a nice thing to plonk somewhere in your defence lines.

Neat, or should I say cute?

Do 10-man squads fit on those parapets?

Cadians easily fit onto the parapets. Can't say the same of Space Marines and other bulky miniatures.

Both parapets hold ten men. Top is a company command squad with advisors all round and the lower one is a veteran squad.

Here's a top view without any fixed weapon or equipment mounted.

Communications array.

And finally my personal favourite: the quad cannon poised to belch tracers into the sky at the first shriek and wail of the sirens.

That does look awesome, and seems to meet size requirements... I must move out of these barracks. stressed

It does look a wee bit small. sweatdrop

But it's a nice build. We just built all of our bastions (four) into regular ones because we had a game to play! I'd love to see someone get a pile of these and turn them into a massive star-shaped fortress or something like that.

well, since my payday is only a week and a bit away, i'm planning on buying an Imperial Defence Network (5 bastions, a ******** of Aegis defence lines and a skyshield landing pad) and a couple of Manufactorum city's of death kits, then im gonna build up the beginnings of my new board, an Ad.Mech City. (multi layered too, kind of like a 40k Minas Tirith) so yeah, i'm going large scale with my bastions

They're on about something else I think, I just want to know when you're going to throw some paint on that thing.

I'll get to it when I get to it, plus I'll need to find my spray of black first, it seems to have vanished.
