Ok so i recently brought the High Elf dragon kit, and i managed to get it built up pretty quickly without any problems. The only thing remaining is creating the rider, which is going to be a Dark Elf as i'm going to mix and match items from the Dragon Rider and the Cold One Knights box set. But that will be done at a later time.
I'm having difficulty coming up with a colour scheme and was wondering if anyone could help. I'm thinking of either a deep red or a deep purple for the scales while the body is going to be sprayed black. Wings will mostly follow the same scheme as the body while the horns, teeth and claws will be painted a mixture of dheneb stone, bleached bone and bestial brown (or some other brown). The tongue will be either red or purple with a matching ink wash.
Sound good or should i change any of it?

well, I am a big Dark Elf fan, I really like the Black and Purple coloring, but I sometimes do switch the Purple with Red or other times I make it some part Red some part Purple...

Well there have been some good ideas.
Shadow_of_Malus, i might take your idea of using red with black skin, red scales and a wash of the new purple ink on the body and wings. Might see how it works out on some cold ones, try and fit the army colour scheme together
