Between Flame And Water [with cookie-ninjas]

The Story

It began long ago in a forest where three men had come together to meet. Their meeting was secretive and no one was quite sure what was occurring at this point. It was a curious event that occurred and caused the disappearance of things and when the news had reached the people they became aware that it was a certain gem they had formed. It was a cruel day, the winds had been particularily harsh and the darkness had seemed more forboding than usual.

Since then there have been explorers from all over who have attempted to find this gem. It is said that this gem held a certain power to enhance the owners abilities so far as to be able to explore their deepest unconscious and gravest of powers possible. It was said to be the ability to hold supreme power over others.

Name: Skeet
Age: 20
Reasoning: He is looking for this gem because of a command that he was given to by his leader. His leader, Captain of a large shipping vessel, had sent him on this mission because of her keen sense of stealth and the fact he kept lighting the ship's hull on fire without realizing. Her young and vibrant temper leaders her to a destructive nature and withdrawn temperament. He is not quick to trust.

Age: 19
Reasoning: Her captain/Leader person (haha) told her to search for some gem she dosent give a damn about (srry I DO CARE!) but only because she dosent know its powers... her leader plans to keep it that way. He knew there was compotition, a fire bender, so he set Yuri off to fetch the gem and get it from her perfect oponent if it comes to that. She is very bubbly and sweet but can be a pain in the a** at times...

Yuri walks on the shore as she aproaches a forest "Bleh... why me all the damn time!" She said dragging herself into the deep damp forest. "What am i even here for again?!" she said geting frustraited that she was most likely getting lost. She sucked teh water out of the ground and plants around her to pull her off the ground and look above the forest "Bleh! i been going the wrong way!" she said poiting in the direction she was supposed to be head "Sigh... well what can you do?" she said with a smirk and flew back to the graound.

Skeet, not his official name but rather a nickname he'd received during his time aboard this ship, was already off on the land searching deep in the forest for a slightest clue that might lead him to the gem. He had an idea of the general direction but was not sure if it was a correct tip. He paused though when he heard something, a water bender seemed to be near by. He was silent now as he slunk back against the tree and looked up above the tree canopy to see if he could sense their location. It would be best if he avoided the vile thing. He murmured to himself for a moment before continuing forward.

Yuri was walking when she came up to foot prints "Aw god damn! ((srry for the language sweatdrop )) im walkin in circles!" she shouted when she looked closer. Bigger foot prints and different marks then the bottom of her shoes. She looked at her shoe wich had a water bending mark at the bottom and the print did not "Well... i guess im not the only one here..." She said hearing rustling through the trees all she could do was run twards the closer trees and keep watch. She walked on her tippy toes slashing water marks over her shoe mark.

He was getting into a darker part of the forest by now, the trees seemed to grow thicker and larger as he went but he'd found a small path that led through them. He snapped his fingers lightly and a small flame came from the palm of his hand. It flickered lightly as he moved his hand about, sensitive to the wind but not about to go out. He could still sense the water bender near him and he climbed up a tree, the one lesson he'd learned from being aboard the ship. He could hide when he wanted to and it was easy for him to do so. He paused though and watched to see if this person, or being would come. His patience was dwindling now and he wanted to rid himself of this follower.

Yuri looked back past the trees and the presence has lifted from the ground "Eh? What?!" she said runing over to the spot "he was just here....!" she mumbled geting a bit angry. She twitched feeling stupid for runing out into the opening "Today is not my day..." she said making the water around her pull from the ground and leaves around and spun around her so fast her figure was unable to be seen. by the time it evaporated she was gone. she has fled and hid in a place near by "How could i be so stupid?!" she mumbled to herself.

The second talent that he had learned from being on the ship was how to navigate among the trees, or something like trees, high above ground. He had already started to make his way when he knew the petty water bender was away. He'd made it past a couple trees when he had a feeling he was going in the wrong direction. It was the first time he'd gotten this feeling but he knew it would be best to stay this course if he were being tracked.

The only significant weapon he had on him was beginning to hinder him. It was a long sword that was swung over his back. He had three daggers but most of it was for hunting and such other things. He had been sent away with little money and almost no supplies. He paused as he studied the direction he was going in and considered where this route may take him.

"Hmmm... didnt decide to fight huh???" she said looking as if she reached for a dagger as a water dagger appeared and turned hard liek ice. She threw it in his direction far away but could still see a little moving figure.

He had paused for a moment and stopped, sitting with his back against the trunk of a tree. He was attempting to do exactly what his captain had told him to do, cool his temper. He could feel something strange occuring, something cold was approaching his direction fast. He paused for a moment before a ball of flame ignited in his hand after a quick snap. He dropped out of the tree swiftly though, landing a bit too hard on his right leg.

"Damn it," he said under his breath as he staggered to regain his balance. The only reason he'd taken this stupid quest was so that he could get away from the people that drove him crazy. There had been a few water benders on the ship but because of the captain's own bending ability, which Skeet wasn't quite sure of, there weren't many of them. There were mostly fire benders, a few earth benders, and an air bender.

"Heh..." she grined and made several more that headed twards his way at crazy speeds. She made more sharper and faster and threw them at all directions "He dosent put up much of a fight does he???" she said reaching cloder in trees.

The fool wanted him to burn the entire forest to the ground. He'd figured out which way the ice daggers were coming from and had already conjured up a fire ball. He paused though and changed his strategy. Sending multiple out at once would work better since they would either melt the incoming daggers or hit the desired target, any tree or bush near the water bender or the water bender itself.

He paused for a moment and then jumped to the side to face the oncoming weapons and began to throw his own weapons of fire, small orbs of red looking liquid, similiar to lava but upon coming in contact with anything it would ignite it almost instantaneously. He felt something zing past him though, grazing his shoulder as he took careful aim.

Before she could tell a fireball came flying twards her face "Agh!" she said freezing it "Heh... no thanks i think you should have it!" she said freezing the fireballs as fast as she could as a few still flew past her and threw the frozen magma balls back to him. Suddenly, her leg was reeeeally hot "What the hell???" she said looking down. A fireball past her leg but cought her on fire "Bah!" she said puting it out as fast as she could. Her leg was still burnt and stung like crazy but she payed no attention to it. Just for that she threw them twice as hard and got twice as close.
