Well I will say it's wonderous to see this guild thriving as it is. I apologize for my prolonged absence, partially due to an unvoluntary stay in a mental home and then getting a life... Gah life, ruins all your free time.. But I return now to be active for as long as I keep paying the internet bill!
Now, to the mainpart of this thread, and no, as much as I know ya'll love me and want to hear about me, that's not what this thread is about...
Ever since I can remember I've been terrified of Zombies. Now, people call this an illegitimate fear. They say Zombies don't exist, whether they be the virus (solanum) that changes them into mindless Zombies who break forth to eat or flesh, or the voo-doo zombies created by tetrodotoxin (pufferfish poison).
Now, the voodoo zombies are real, but they are't exactly the zombies from pop culture. They are just people who have been fed this poison and have entered a death like trance. they can still move around but their frontol lobes don't work properly, like somone who just got a lobotomy.
Now to the actualy question behind the statements...
So you believe solanum virus zombies (the zombies of horror movies) are real? Please give an insightful answer with why you think they are or why you think they aren't..
I want to see if I'm alone in my beliefs..
Thanks for listening!
~Kupo~

GilAskan - N y z z - Hm. It might be possible, if the rabies virus mutated and became capable of controlling the body after death. That would have to be one hell of a smart virus, but it may happen in the distant future. Pretty much biologically impossible, actually. Viruses thrive on us dying and staying dead. A parasite is the more likely culprit, were we to ever take on zombie-like traits.
But said parasite would probably have to be around the size of a virus in order to avoid the major defense mechanisms of the body. And with rabies being a neuroinvasive virus it makes it an ideal culprit.
