The new movie is so close and I'm excited! It looks really good and im trying not to set myself up for disappoitment, but come on. It's awesome. i can't wait much longer xd

I remember seeing Insurrection and Nemesis at the cinema, Star Trek is fantastic on the big screen. I was 6 when I went to see Insurrection! And before that I was watching Star Trek IV on the CD-I (primitive playstation/dvd player thing), and the rest of the films on video over and over again. I'm so excited, I'm planning on seeing it on the 8th, which is the uk release date I think?

I can't wait to see it!! I actually have a computer science final that day at 8:30, but hopefully I'll get out in time to see the earliest showing(10:45) at the nearest theater. I will see the first showing even if I have to leave early!!

That's because you're going about it all wrong. You need to be going into this movie thinking bad thoughts like the cgi will be all cardboard pre-sixties s**t, with the direction actually done by George Lucas, and they lied about Kirk's actor, they actually cast a woman in the part to make the movie more progressive.

...see? With that line of thinking, the movie can only get better from there. My plan is foolproof! *maniacal laughter*

I'm seeing the midnight showing on May 8.

I like the fact that it's set in an alternate timeline, so as not to coincide with established canon. (Hopefully. But for some reason, I don't trust Abrams with that...)

Bottom line, it'll never be as good as the original, no matter how "mind blowing" people say it is. Not in a million years.

One of the theaters near me has a showing the day before the 'official' US premiere. And even better - it's IMAX! xd

And I still say they should have gone forward, not backward...but then again, I'm a bookworm....
