Does he? I've never seen a day go by where he isn't posting on Gaia.

Oddly enough, I'm on more now as I have no job. I'm not on when I'm on expedition, but yeah.

I like this place, so I post here.

Yes, as a matter of fact, I am. I, like him, have no job at the moment. I was just poking fun, because I thought he would have school or some job. But, I guess he doesn't. Or at least some kind of social life, but he's on here so much.... That I almost doubt it.

oh, and... Expeditions, Invictus?

Ah, sounds like fun, Invictus. Though I'm not completely sure what you're speaking of, I'm guessing white water rafting, as we call it here?

No, whitewater rafting is an adventure sport usually lasting a few hours tops. Mine are more quest-y.

The France trip involved clearing the riverbed for 500metres to clear a canal deep enogh to let us push the boat over the shallow water. We had to empty her of kit and carry it downriver to a place where it was deeper and then push the empty hull a few feet before clearing the rocks for the next few feet of run. All in dry temperatures of 100F/37-40C.

It also involved currents strong enough to overturn a heavy boatfull of kit and a meeting with some newspaper reporters. One of whom was very solemn, spoke no English and kept using sentences with the word "mort" in them.

Also, we didn't use a raft. They are too slow to paddle on flat water so we took a thin fibreglass gig with an up-armoured stem-post and keel-runners so that she wouldn't be so easily broken on rock collisions. There are pictures of her in the Ark, I'm pretty sure. She's called "Thespian".

Ah, sounds like alot of fun Invictus. Something I might enjoy doing myself, if I had the time and money do it.

Unfortunately, I have neither. Ah well..

I'm toying very seriously with the idea of an expedition on the Connecticut river..

That expedition sounds like the one my aunt and uncle did on the Bowren Lakes.

Ah, it's good that you still come back though.

Also, note for everyone. I haven't been on all yesterday or the day before.
