I sculpt, I convert and I like to do step by step guides to some of what I do.

Here is a 'full scale' Space Marine I'm sculpting by commision.
[not too great..]

And this is an Angel I started on for a gf... Right now I have no idea if it will require completion stare [My apologies, wrong set of links, guess you saw my raptor lord anyway xd ]

I do a fair few odd conversions [Like a raptor lord.. Could show if you like]
and some step by step guides [again, ask if you'd like to see]

I'd love to see that true-scale marine standing next to a regular model.

For free-hand sculpting, it's not bad at all. 3nodding

Thanks.

I may have some scale pics still, I think I kept the recent 2. [I had a slcae pic when I started making him, if you're interested in the development pics say so, I'll put em up]

Aha, we're in luck, I haven't deleted the newest scale photos. but they are bad quality [taken with my phone..]
Against a marine
Against a Terminator
The base doesn't help you see how tall he is compared unfortunately...

Sweet minis ya got there Messy, I see ALOT of future potential there~

As a novice sculptor (sort of only doing ork/orc stuff) I want to ask if you use normal sculpting tools or do you stick to something else? Gotta learn as much as possiible.

I've been told loads of tools to try out, but I stick to the sculpting tool I bought from GW and one I got from a market near me for cheap.

I use knives occasionally to get crisp lines, and I have things like needles to get good shapes.
And thanks. If I had any GS right now I'd be finishing that Marine and getting on with the new daemon lord I'm making.
I also like to use my own saliva to damp the tools, lastslonger than water and is easier to shift stuff around that using something like vaseline.

I've been told to get some clay tools with silicone rubber tops, apparently they're swell when it comes to smoothening areas, I might order a couple of them till next month or when I'm in the mood for yet another ork sculpting project.

Sculpting a daemon? Might as well give it a try myself just for the sheer fun of it!

Now that the right pictures are up there, the sculpting on that angel is actually quite amazing in my opinion. burning_eyes

Thank you.

Shinobi, I've had them suggested to me. If you've ever had them in your hand you'd get an idea of why I'd not use one. The larger ones would be good for smoothing, but I find a wet finger is good for larger areas, and my larger sculpting tool [large flat areas] is good for small surfaces.

Hmm, I tend to test tools on my flesh before I buy them too [not as weird as it sounds..].
I look at the edges of a sculpting tool and run them over the back of my hand, it's sensitive enough that I can get the idea of how it would run over the model. Same with paint brushes, I run them gently over my hand to see how they spread and how solid they are.

Bloody hell, the feathers on the corrected angel are incredible!
