Okies, let's start! biggrin

Tristan Scott was King. A rather handsome king as well and only twenty-one years old. His auburn hair fell in a manageable fashion across his head, cut so that it wouldn't fall in his eyes or past the middle of his neck. His eyes, a silky brown, were placed above a stately nose, which was above a large and often smiling mouth. Below his mouth was a lovely chin, and beside it a dimple in his cheek. King Tristan was currently in his carriage, which was flanked by his two favorite knights, Elton and Brendan. Elton was his particular favorite, and the King's confidante. They were all visiting the neighboring kingdom to meet the new Queen. Hopefully, she'd like King Tristan. If not, things would be troublesome.

Elton was riding his mare, bored. He had counted all the mermaids carved into the wheels of the carriage, and all the fayries adorning the crown. The driver, a fair maiden disguised as a man, was not open to Elton's flirtations. Elton's mood was befouled by her resistance.
Elton was barely 20, with a smirk and a mischievous sparkle to his green eyes. His hair was made up of unruly curls the color of sunshine, which he kept short to maintain. He was of a tall and slim figure, but muscled from his years of knight training. He wore casual clothing while he rode, knowing that they would most likely not be attacked.
To counteract his boredom, he once again attempted flirtations with the driver. Again, he was unsuccessful.

((It's really too bad I can't save this topic...how am I going to check if you post or not well all we can do is bookmark it - - and you're fine with paragraph sizing ^^))

"M'lady, the king will be arriving soon..." A young maiden's voice crept into the Queen's Chamber.

The young girl was young in age; only 17 years old and already a faithful servant of the Queen. She had very long straight brown hair that she always kept in a bun under a bandana to hide her hair, her eyes a shining hazel green colour, almost the colour of a healthy tree bark and being a maid usually work a simple brown dress with a white apron over it. Her simplicity underweighed her beauty as she was always complimented by the Queen who was still a far better beauty herself.

Turning her head slightly from the window another woman, age 19 put down her needle and thread, standing from her windowsill and smiling to her maid who hid behind the door. "Are they here already...time certainly flies..." she smiled ever so slightly, slowly and gracefully walking to the door, the two of them heading down to the throne room to await the arrival of King Tristan-the neighbouring country's king.

"Are you nervous your highness?" The young maiden asked while walking just a few paces behind the Queen.
Looking foward she gently shook her head and turned, "What have I told you Jillian, it's Ophelia, I'd rather you call me by my real name."
"But...but m'lady..."
"No buts," Ophelia placed her finger gently on her maid's lips. "I've known you since I was a little girl, we've been friends for the longest time and just because I happen to be Queen doesn't mean we can't be friends."
Queen Ophelia was indeed beautiful and kind to add on. She had long wavy golden blonde hair, piercing sky blue eyes, and skin as pale and soft as the first snowfall. Ophelia was usually in a cream or white colours to contrast her eyes but today she wore a detailed ocean blue dress, her corpset sucking the air from her diaphram in to make her look thinner. Still, at the age of 19, Ophelia still had much difficulty with a corpset and often struggled breathing in it.
"If that is your wish m-..Ophelia." Jillian smiled while opening the throne room doors for the Queen before she walked in. There were already many guards positioned around the room, bowing to her as she entered to sit on her white cushioned throne.

"When the King arrives please send him in." she instructed her guards as Jillian stood beside her, awaiting the King's arrival.

((Thank you ^^ ))

Tristan was soon at the castle, having dozed off in his carriage. He rather disliked long carriage rides, but he often had to. The door to his carriage was opened by the young driver, and the sunlight spilled across the king's features. He awoke with a start, groaning. He stumbled out of his carriage, and Elton was immediately at his side to support him. After getting the sleepy king upright, they attempted a dignified arrival, but it was difficult with the king nodding off while standing up. Elton was very bad at subtle awakenings, so when the door opened a hard stab in the king's side with his elbow was called for.
The king glared at Elton, then shot a sleep smile at whoever opened the door, "King Tristan," he introduced himself

When the King arrived, there were four guards waiting outside in the main entrance yard for him. They bowed while two proceeded to lead them inside while the remaining two took it upon themselves to take the King's baggages.

"You will be meeting with our Queen Ophelia in the Throne Room sire." One guard addressed him with they stopped outside the throne room one moment.

Soon, the doors were opened by guards inside as everyone in the room bowed to the King; guards, Jillian the maid and of course Ophelia stood from her throne and curtsyed as best as she could. "Your Majesty King Tristan, it is an honour to finally meet you in person." she walked up to him and curtsyed again. "I hope your voyage to my Castle was not a difficult one, I shall make this meeting quick so you may properly rest." Ophelia smiled. Although she was young she was taught to be very formal but in reality she was still just a learning child unsure of her place in the world.

For the time being the meeting was between the King and Queen but in the background, Jillian was eyeing the King with her large hazel green eyes, of course noticing the two guards he had brought along but, something about the King was just.....dazzling her.

Tristan nodded, still about to doze off. Elton had just about lodged his elbow into the king's stomach to keep the man up, trying to focus on his king, not the foreign queen in front of him. Tristan's eyes roamed to room, before connecting with a pair of very bewitching eyes. He perked up immediately, smiling with a dazzling air.
"Thank you, it is a pleasure to be here," Tristan bowed formally to the queen, but watched the girl through the corner of his eye.

"My name is Ophelia van Libelia, you may call me Ophelia if you wish. I shall hope to....enjoy your company for the next few weeks and months to come as we work out continuing issues between our two countries yes? but for now, you seem tired." Ophelia paused with a smile and turned her head slightly, "Jillian, please escort our guests to their rooms. Your belongings should have already been brought up your majesty. I look forward to seeing you at dinner." once again curtseying Ophelia couldn't help but quickly look up to one of King Tristan's Knight whom she thought earlier was glancing at her.

"As you wish your highness." Jillian said walking over to the King, curtseying while directing them back out into the large hallway.
As they departed Ophelia just stood in the middle of the throne room with her hands folded in front of her watching the four of them leave and the giant double doors close behind them.

"You will be escourted to dinner naturally, feel free to wander the grounds as much as you please but your health is most important." Jillian spoke while leading the three to a giant array of halls, trying not to look back just to eye the king even a moment. Once she reached another set of double doors she opened them to a large room with high church ceilings and a beautiful view of the village. "I hope the room is too your liking your majesty, and your guards may stay in the room right across the hall if it pleases you. If you need anything there are maids wandering the halls, you may ask them for anything you desire. I must return to the Queen now, so if you'll excuse me I hope you rest well." with a smile Jillian left the three in the King's room while scurrying down the halls.

"I must be....out of my mind..." Jillian muttered while heading back to tend to the Queen. Even she found the task of being formal and polite difficult but in the presence of royalty she had too.

Tristan turned to smile at the maid, hoping to get a word in before she scurried off, as maids often do, "It is a pleasure to meet you Miss-" he began, but she was already gone.
Elton chuckled, clapping his friend on the shoulder and heading into his room. "G'luck milord," he said, knowing that was the wrong thing to say, "You have a queen to charm!"
Tristan sighed heavily, turning back to his room and walking in. Then, out of sight of the maid, he collapsed into slumber again, not even changing out of his travelling clothes.

Elton had decided to roam the grounds, taking a nice stroll in the sunlit garden. It was a very nice day, and the flowers were delightful.

"Well that was an interesting meeting wouldn't you agree O-" As Jillian walked into the Queen's room she found her attempting to underess herself without the help of her maids. Because of the complications of her dress she often had a hard time removing her dress.

"Ophelia!" Rushing over Jillian helped untie her bows and laces then quickly undid her corpset while handing her one of her simple cream dresses.

"I'm sorry Jillian, but you know how much I hate wearing those....I can't breathe in them and they are so uncomfortable. If I'm ever to have children I won't find myself dead wearing one of those it's just not healthy." the Queen spoke while pulling on her dress behind a partician. "Anyway...you deserve a break for the time being I have nothing else schedualed for the day."
"But-are you sure...?"
"You've worked so hard getting up early to prepare everything I just want you to have a nice rest." Ophelia put a hand on her shoulder and began to walk out of the room, gently closing the door behind her.

Ophelia headed down to the garden; her favorite spot in the whole castle. There she had her peace and quiet, her tranquility and silence but most of all she could enjoy the fresh air or take a quiet nap on the grass even though she would be scolded if she was found doing such a thing.
Out in the garden, Ophelia walked to her favorite willow tree which fortunately was big enough and had enough willows to hide the sun yet enough to see. Once there she sat on the lushious green grass before lying down on her side, twirling a piece of grass between her fingers.

Following the Queen's advice, Jillian decided to take the day off and rest, at least before dinner but instead she went off to the royal library to read up on the history of King Tristan's country and maybe get some background information on the King. Normally, maids were not well educated like royalty but because of Ophelia's kindness she was able to give Jillian a good education thus allowing her to help Ophelia make useful decisions if necessary regarding the kingdom.

After about an hour's worth of sleep, King Tristan went on a mission to track down the maid. He changed quickly into inconspicuous clothes and slipped out into the castle's halls, quickly picking up a pace and poking in and out the vast many rooms. He eventually sighed, giving up... after one last door. He opened up, back into his room again. A string of curses swung from the king's tongue and echoed down the hall. He quickly caught himself, shutting his mouth before more than about ten words could leave his dirty throat. He went into his room and began to prepare for dinner, thoroughly embarrassed.

Without knowledge of it, Queen Ophelia had drifted slowly into a deep sleep on the cool whispers of grass almost like a child sleeping in a field. She was so peaceful and so beautiful that the light that was able to shine through the willows would only brighten her skin. Eyes delicately shut and flickered ever so slightly. Only a few hours later did she realize she had slept and jolted up with embarssment.
Though, not too far away she spotted one of the King's knight's browsing her garden in awe. Ophelia just watched him, hugging her knees as she sat, gazing her ocean blue eyes at him from a short distance.

((I'm going to go to bed now....I'm actually really tired and I have a test that I didn't study for tomorrow. BYEBYE See you tomorrow ^^))

((I have to too XD I have a math test tomorrow, but we just went over the junk today.))
Elton turned to walk back, the queen catching his eye as he spun on his heel. He stopped immediately, smiling charmingly. He stepped over to the woman, bowing. "Hello Miss Ophelia," he greeted her with enthusiasm. "I must compliment you on this arrangement, you have wonderful gardeners."

((I got on during my spare lolz))

"Shh."
Ophelia put her finger over her lips to shush him while glancing around to make sure no one was around.
When the way was clear she looked back up to him and smiled. "You can call me Ophelia, there's no need for honourifics if it's just us too, I'm tired of being formal all the time anyway." she continued to smile playfully and motioned him beside her.

"Thank you for your compliments." she added from his compliments on her garden. "Jillian and I tend to it almost everyday, it's my pride and joy, like the children I'm yet to have...I love the garden, it's always so peaceful and calming..." Ophelia spoke while looking out into the garden, falling into a gentle daze. "But enough about me, how about you, you've never introduced yourself sir...." not knowing his name she let her sentence drift.

-----

After taking a short nap Jillian took off her apron, bonnet and let down her long hair, combing it straight while grabbing a towel or two and walking to the King's room once again. She looked so much different than she did when she was in her maid's outfit. When she arrived she knocked on the door wondering if the King was already awake.

"Your Majesty, I was wondering if you'd like to take a bath before dinner are you there?" she calmly asked.

PostPosted: Fri Nov 07, 2008 5:32 pm
"Sir Elton," he replied, "And was Jillian the lady in the corner that my king was unable to take his eyes off of?" he raised an eyebrow, wondering if the queen had noticed as well. He laid down on the grass, looking at the sky.

_-_

The King opened the door, his eyes bright as he saw her, "Yes, that'd be-" he tried to find the right word, fumbling as his eyes travelled over her features- her hair, her eyes, downward until he reached the floor. He kept his eyes there while he completed his sentence, "Lovely," he told her.

"Shhh!!!!" Ophelia quickly shushed him while looking around. "You have to be careful of what you say...my retainers could be hiding somewhere listening. Yes, that is Jillian, my handmaiden and my very best friend. She could be royalty if she was born into a rich family...but either way...if the King were to like Jillian...there are rumours that the countries want to make peace by marrying the two of us." Ophelia didn't seem too thrilled about this idea since she believed in real love instead of arranged marriage. "but I still wish all the happiness for Jillian if she could have it..." she smiled still hugging her knees under the shade of the willow tree.
"I don't think the King would be pleased if he finds out we're to married....eventually..." she trailed off while looking away.

"mmmhmmm..." Jillian couldn't help but giggle as the King eyed her for a moment. "Something wrong your majesty? I apologize for my attire. Her highness gave me the afternoon off but I still find it proper to attend to my duties." she stepped into the room and to another set of doors which lead to the bathroom. There she turned on the tap to allow the water to run (let's pretend they have pipes already lol). "It'll only take a moment." Jillian spoke again while sitting on the brim of the tub, running her long slender fingers through the water to feel it's temperature.
