How do you feel about straight pairings?

Here's a question I've been wanting to ask for a while.
When I'm watching an anime, and I see a girl I hate and a guy she likes hinting towards a relationship, I'm like "He would go so much better with that guy instead of that annoying bitch"...of course this isn't the same with all animes I watch, only a select few.
My first reaction to a straight coupling I dont like in an anime is to either
A. Change the channel
B. Facepalm
or C. Throw something at the TV xd

It's not always with canon couples though. It's the same with fanpairings too. When I see a SasukexSakura fanart...I feel like I want to inwardly puke...(no offense).

Though I have no hatred towards said fanpairers of course. We're allowed to like what we like.

Does anyone else get like this, or is it just me? O.o

Straight pairings kind of bore me, because seriously, it's not very interesting. And usually pretty cliché-d. Usually when I like a female character I don't want anyone to touch her, ever xD The Major from Ghost in The Shell, for example.. I just can't see her in a romantic relationship at all. So generally, I like my boys promiscuous and my girls to beat the crap out of whoever makes a move on her. <3

However, there are like... 10 [roughly] straight pairings I can stand. ;>.> But that's rare.

I'd rather if the girl were either: 1: lesbian, 2: asexual, 3: a yaoi fangirl. ninja

It depends on what the pairing is... like in Ouran High School Host Club... I CANNOT stand TamakiXHaruhi, but I'm completely fine with HikaruXHaruhi, KyoyaXHaruhi, and MoriXHaruhi. Even though I do admit all those guys would look a lot better with another guy.
And sometimes I just love a certain straight pairing (usually canon), like SyaoranXSakura from Tsubasa and CardCaptor Sakura.
It really depends on the pairing and whether they're cute together (and if they have any chemistry together) or not. But if a non-canon pairing (or sometimes a canon pairing) looks better with the guy getting together with another guy, I prefer that.

I think the same way as Ochisan12 - it really depends on the characters involved. If I think they're a good match, I don't mind. *Shrug* Hey, the girls need love, too, and not always from each other. Het pairings almost never outrank same-sex pairings on my list of favorites, though. 3nodding

Was there ever a more annoying pairing than HeeroxRelena?? they really put me off het pairings, but there are some that I really like, such as... ... ... ... YuuxMiki! from Marmalade Boy! I knew there had to be one! But seriously if there are two even remotely attractive guys in the series I'm going to slash them, it's just in my nature.

Haha, totally agree there xD Espeeecially the yaoi fangirl part. It's always great to see a fujoshi character in anime and manga, or any type of media, really. Which is why I find 801-chan and Mousou Shoujo Otaku-Kei so awesome (It's so sad that they cancelled the 801-chan anime.)
The asexual bit, too... Sakura from Naruto, for example, would be a way better character if she didn't have that crush on smelly emo kid Sasuke.
Canon couples in non-yaoi fandoms are often quite boring, I've noted. Card Captor Sakura, for example; I think that Sakura would be better off with Tomoyo, who's a way better character and cares so much more for Sakura than Syaoran does. But it's not always straight pairings; Utena and Anthy, too, is another example. Utena is awesome in every way, but Anthy is just odd and kind of useless (except for the sword bit, and the cool dress.)

My general philosophy: GIRLS DON'T NEED LOVE! scream THEY NEED SHOES AND PORN AND CHOCOLATE CAAAKE~

So I enjoy series like... Skip Beat, where the main theme isn't the totally dreamy boy, it's the evil plotting for her ex-crush's downfall ^^

If the pairing is interesting and non-smutty/cheesy/generic, I accept it. Like in W Juliet, Itou and Makoto are great together ^^ And Howl and Sophie, and Emma and William, and Ron and Hermione... but it's not like I go off searching for fanworks, it's just that I think that they suit each other smile In series like Inu Yasha, Fushigi Yuugi and Absolute Boyfriend, the main couples are kind of lame...

There are a lot of lame pairings out there.Some of which you mentioned.

Like i recently started watching Spider Riders and there was this one episode where the main character "Hunter" went with one of his teammates
(a girl) called "Corona" to the village where she grew up for investigation.

The villagers automatically assumed that he was her boyfriend and kept on saying how cute they were together and just wouldnt listen to them when they said they wernt together.

I seriously facepalmed right there.I felt like jumping into the tv and shooting all the villagers one by one pirate

Yeah i really hate lame plots like that >.>
Ive read better fanfics than that show...yet i still watch...maybe because there are a few slashable yaoi pairings in there.Its funny how we put up with shows like that just for a pairing or two xD

To me, straight couples are usually very cheesy cheese with each other or play too much hard-to-get.
I mean, i'll still read shoujo manga such as Love*com, Sunadokei or NANA but that's because the love stories are more dramatic and too hard not to follow. :3

Like Ochisan12 said, I had a hard time pairing Tamaki up with Haruhi. But instead of pairing Haruhi up with others, I was pairing Tamaki up with Kyouya.

Also, i find hentai boring. Yaoi just seems more...exciting. Maybe it's because i'll never experience it in real life as i will eventually with hentai (or you know, it's real life counterpart. Oh don't make me have to type it out. You must get the gist by now). I think i would rather see yuri than hentai or even another girl watching yaoi.

Ugh, I agree... Haruhi is so... meh xD So boring. Tamaki is better of with Kyouya, because at least he can take care of him... They're like, married more or less anyway, hence the "mom" and "dad" titles x3

But het couples are...alright...in context. I HATE obivous pairings, it sickens me half to death--its so typical. If your going to have a het couple--make it unexpected! Or like:
Girl A has a crush on Guy A, Guy A decides to take a chance on Girl A, but then Girl B comes along and gets Guy A to cheat on Girl A and Girl A is no longer with us...*reads suicide note* X3

But haaay, what can you do? D8,
