Do you prefer marching band or concert band?

MARCHING BAND FTW!!! But anyway yea I love marching even if as a Mellophone player I dont get the really good parts. I love it anyway contests are so much fun!

I like Marching Band when I am not do sharp military style turns for a pre-game show crying . But I do like concert band, too, because there are a lot of songs that I like to play and they are much longer and complex than marching music.

i love both equally (:
marching because its just so completely amazing.
but concert because i get to play my contrabass clarinet :3
last year we played phantom.
and i play a mean phantom on that thing XD.

i like concert band best because you can just sit and focus on the music nistead of having to make sure you dont run into anyone or anything!

Hmmm...I would say that concert band is better because there is cooler sounding music, but I would still have to say that jazz band is the best! (YAY)

you really get to know people a whole lot better with marching band too. i didnt march in my freshman year and i didnt know like any one in the band too well, but this year im in marching band and like im pretty good friends with everyone (our bands pretty small too, so)

thats a hard decision...it depends on the song. ifs its a rockin' song, the i would want to sit down to play it so i play it well. if its something we could play just as well marching, then yea, marching wins.

Ah, even if marching band is the MOST STRESSFUL THING EVAR I always miss it when it's over. There's so many fun memories.
Concert band is more calm and has more challenging and prettier music, but marching band has trips every week and all kinds of craziness.

I wouldn't dare choose one. xD

Well, definately marching band. (which I always say M band cause I'm too lazy, lol) Depending on the show, the music is a bit more fun. And it definately makes you a better player, in my opinion. And its SO MUCH FUN!!! I agree with Saint Crazy S Requiem, it is so much more stressful!

Concert band is so much more relaxed(unless you actually have the class. Yikes!) I like the music in concert band better. This year we're doing Fantasia!!! blaugh

At the moment, I'd have to say marching band, but I love both. I'm just going through a difficult time in concert band (I'm going through an embouchure change, so I can't play much, so I'm in the lowest band playing a bunch of easy parts because the only challenges in our music are in range, which I do not have right now).

My school only has a concert band. Sadly no marching band sad It is because we are out in the country so there isn't enough people and we have only 1 music teacher and he already gives a lot of his own time on the music program so we are very greatful to even have band. So I guess Concert Band for me xd
