I'm from 1953, and back in my day computers filled huge rooms in universities or government buildings, and spit out cards with little holes in them. In school we would make arts and crafts projects out of the used cards, like curling and stapling them into a giant wreath, spray-painting it gold and sprinkling it with glitter for Christmas.
