Hi all! Lately I've been looking around on the internet for costumes from the Star Trek universe. I can find loads of Starfleet uniforms, and a fair few Klingon outfits as well, but not much else.

I'm looking for pictures of a specific dress... There's one episode of DS9 (I can't remember what the episode was called sweatdrop ) where a Cardassian woman and two other Cardassians come to the station trying to get away from the Cardassian government. As it turns out the Cardassian woman (can't remember her name... memory like a bloody sive! sweatdrop ) used to be Quark's lover and he tries to get her to stay on the station in exchange for a cloaking device so the other two can escape safely...

Anyway, I'm looking for pictures of this dress she wore so I can try to make something simmilar. smile Any help with this would be hugely appreciated! biggrin

The episode title is Profit and Loss, and the women's name is Natima. These are the best pictures I could find. You're welcome. wink biggrin

My thanks! I'll have another look around on the internet and see if I can find anything. It should be easier now I know the title and character name! 3nodding

As well as the dress, I'm going to be making a latex prosthetic so I can look like a Cardassian as well! 4laugh Here's what I've done today. -->

Later on I'm going to take a cast of this then pour the liquid latex into it to get a mould of what I sculpted earlier.

I havn't yet made sculpture bits for my ears/jawline and neck, as those will be a little more difficult to make. First what I'll have to do is, is take a cast of my own neck and ears, then make a mould of that, then use that to sculpt the right shapes on, then take a cast of that, then use that cast to pour the liquid latex into to create the prosthetic itself.

I'll update with pics as I go along! biggrin

Her full name is Natima Lang...and if memory serves, she comes into play in the books at some point...I can't remember where, but yeah, I'm positive she's in the books, too.

**UPDATE**

Ok, so I tried using plastercine to make a mould of the sculpture that I've done (because I'm too lazy/poor to order liquid rubber or whatever it is your'e supposed to use), which failed epicly. gonk It turned out the plastercine stuck to the clay in places, rendering the mould useless. I then had to spend an hour or so getting the plastercine off the sculpture and making sure there was none left in any little crevices.

So now I'm going to do it slightly differently... I saw this video on youtube and it gave me some ideas. --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=illlheX-uO4

**UPDATE**

Today I've made a start on doing the ear bits. First I made a mould of my own ears using plastercine, then filled that with wax to get a cast of my lower ears and part of my jawline.

After the wax had solidified, I took the plastercine off and I was left with a copy of my ears and jawline ready to sculpt on. biggrin

**UPDATE**

Ok, so now I've sculpted the ear/jawline parts on my wax moulds.

When those have dried through, I'll give them a few layers of liquid latex like I did with the main face parts.

Sorry about the pics being a bit blurry; my hands are a bit shakey and I took the flash off so it wouldn't drown out the details.

**UPDATE**

After I put enough layers of latex on my face sculpture, I give it a dusting of white foundation to stop it from remaining tacky and potentially sticking to itself. When that's done, I peel it off very carefully. After it's off, I give the underside a dusting with foundation as well. I then lay it out flat and fill in the reverse side with more latex so that the prosthetic won't collapse in on itself if it is accidentally bumped.

That is SO cool!!!! Good luck! I can't wait to see how it turns out! biggrin

**UPDATE**

After the reverse side has been filled in, I flip the mask back over and put it on one of my other mask blanks to help it keep it's shape. After that, I get out the liquid latex again and just add some here and there where the mask has lost it's shape a bit.

I've also started making some flat bits of latex to put over my eyebrows to hide them as the eye ridges won't be enough.

**UPDATE**

http://s229.photobucket.com/albums/ee317/Rachel_in_the_sky/?action=view¤t=IMGP0021.jpg

Now that I've finished waiting for the latex on the mould to dry, I can now peel it off.

http://s229.photobucket.com/albums/ee317/Rachel_in_the_sky/?action=view¤t=IMGP0023.jpg

Once it is off, I can now fill in the necessary bits from behind with liquid latex, like I did with the other face part.

**UPDATE**

After everything is dry and to my liking, I trim off the scraggy edges so that they look tidy. 3nodding
