We all enjoy a decent read from time to time, but since general literature is usually not related to BL or slash, I thought it'd be a good idea to just start a general thread for books and short stories.
Feel free to discuss and recommend authors, novels, short stories and genres. <3

I thought, what about a master list of recommendations? I'll list your suggestions with your username. If more than one person recommends the same book, I'll add several usernames so you can see what books are more popular (this might make things easier) And I'll link each title to the amazon.com page for it (or otherwise if, for some reason, amazon does not stock it.)

You have good taste in books, meiner Meinung nach in my opinion.

So, maybe I will take a look at Holy Fools and Tithe.

I would recommend the Tawny Man trilogy, follow-up to the trilogy in which Assassin's Apprentice is one of the books.
Ahh, also, Neil Gaiman writes fascinating short stories, which have been collected up into anthalogies such as Fragile Things, and Smoke and Mirrors.
His books are quite good too. (I've read Neverwhere and Anansi Boys, and I have American Gods hanging around my room, waiting for me to pick it up.)
The Discworld series by Terry Pratchett is huge, funny and quite brilliant.
The Book of Lost Things by John Connolly is really great, too. It's full of really strange and twisted reworkings of well-known fairytales, which show up woven into the plot as the book progresses.

Everyone seems to find me retarded these days, because I find Twilight ridiculous xD (for obvious reasons though.) I reeeally recommend Holy Fools. It is hilarious and rather clever smile

I shall add those suggestions to the list~
I'm reading 5 books at the moment >_>;; I hate having to borrow them from the library, because they won't give you enough time... D: I'm a busy studennnntt~

I must say Oscar Wilde is the best gay man in history.
Neil Gaiman is pretty amazing as well, not as cool, but amazing. I have read all the books recommended by him on the list
