Was the ending of the FMA movie weird?

I saw the ending of the movie and heard what Al said and I quote 'I wanna be by your side'. eek To me that was shouting Elricest. I couldn't believe Al said that.

What I didn't like was the fact tha Edward left me behind in a different world! it made me cry! and get mad all at once! cry stressed

It was all right... It had closure and Ed was reunited with Al which I loved. But I was upset that Winry got left behind by her two best friends...
