I came to steal your heart away...
The much needed opinions page.

This is your area where nobody can have a say at your opinions and there will be no silly discussing of wether or not the actions of somebody were just. If he really deserved getting banned. Or the stupid point of saying which martini's are better.

This is your page [All the members] where you will be free from persecution and free from a watchful eye besides the fact of you know the...*cough cough PG-13 thing cough cough*...excuse me~

But here you are~

Feel free to open those floodgates and torrents of those minds because if you don't I will feel that our guild is a bunch of mobbing minds XD. If you have an opinion but its mean, Who cares. SAY IT ANYWAY. If you wanna brown nose someone and hope they care enough to give you something. Go for it you pencil pusher. If you want to say your dog is cute and adorable and you just want to scream it. F**K go for it~

Isn't the point of a feedback thread to allow us, the crew, to be able to better serve our fellow gaians by listening to what they, the pleb.... er... members have to say about the guild, and/or any bad id... ummm... suggestions they might have?

Just a thought...

That is exactly what this is my dearest dronze~

user feed back on anything we do, but I threw in other things so this isn't something strictly for the guild. If you just wanna complain go for it~

don't get me wrong, it's a great idea, but why clutter a feedback thread with information that really doesn't apply?

I wouldn't call "M3H L13K M3H 1337 K1TT3HZ!!!!1! W007Z0RZ!!!!1!111!!!11one" viable user feedback... would you?

We've got an entire SUBFORUM dedicated to meaningless and useless crap... as well as fun and entertaining games and other such randomness.

I would like to recommend a summit or vote, by a council of moderators, before the banning of any member.

I'm not a moderator, but I agree with Bella. However, I think this would only be a good idea in cases where the accused is sitting on the fence, i.e., when it's not really apparent that the accused actually deserves to get banned. I mean, you wouldn't waste time discussing the banning of some guy who constantly spammed porn or sent threatening PMs to the mods or something.

Also, a sort of meeting like this would require mods to cooperate with each other, which isn't easy to do when each mod has a different way of enforcing the law.

Personally, though, I'd go for a three strike policy.

@ bellabie: A council or hearing would take DAYS to do something that shouldn't need to take days to do. Banning a member (or even non-members) is a practice that should be reserved for a worst-case scenario, and it shouldn't really be a long, drawn out beauracratic process...

instead of calling council, honestly, i think for an on-the-fence issue, perhaps merely requiring a moderator to second the ban would be a wiser idea...

@ boxtop: 3 strikes is a good idea on paper, but it takes a fair amount of record keeping on our part...

The 3 strike method is tried and true when your in kindergarten boxman~

I think we as human being have evolved past the need to say..."OHHHH 3rd STRIKE YOUR OUT!" and simply base it off of the particular action that we say needs banning for. As much as you would like to believe I actually have my ban hammer quite secured to my side at this moment. I do tend to save it for when you draw other members down with yourself.

The only two people I have thrown out of here were You, and almost GoFL along with inactive members but thats for mods to deal with.

***MY SUGGESTION***

This is for me and dronze personally but I think we should for Instructional, AND Hilarity compose a thread with multiple posts in the past that we have deemed as the path not to tread on to be a good member. Maybe...hmm..a compact series of stupid people with smart people pointing out the flaws?

It's a good idea in theory to have threads where people point of the flaws of idiots. But lets face it not everyone can pull it off like Dronze can. Threads containing offensive or questionable posts made by members of this guild should remain in the moderators forum. And not open to every Tom, d**k and Harry to add there two cents on what they think about the post. And leaving the name of a member in the guild out of the post. Doesn't change the fact that they still know who the post is about. I'm against the alienation of any member of this guild. Main reason being it disgraces the guild and a moderator doing this would be a further disgrace.

Demonic Repentance

It's good when the moron in question gets a huge taste of the real world.

Dronze hurts people verbally. It's not so bad, really.

Plus, he only punishes the complete retards.

Ahem. As far as I know.

I rather like the idea of a three-strike policy. It's couldn't possibly be too hard to maintain. I mean, if people break rules, mods pm this person about it, they have a thread where there's the persons name and the strike number. PM gets sent to the accused, stating reason for strike and the strike number. 3 strikes, they are out, PM sent stating they are banned...

How hard is that? I rather like both ideas given out by Boxman and Bellabie.

I also think that this thread stands for something that has now been totally neglected. Ideas have been given out and not only have they not been considered or not given a trial period, they have been cruelly discarded. There is this distinct line between Mods and members. As though, mods are gods or something. It's such a hierachy and it feels like a total power kick.

I system where the moderators vote for the removable of a guilty member. Seen it before and although the pros to this are well known by anyone that understands democracy. The cons are not as obvious as they should be. See on one hand since a moderator has to set up a meeting then take a vote on the guilty parties removal or suspension. They don't have the option of misusing there power for personal reasons. On the down side I've seen completely vulgar people stay on a website just because some of the mods liked them. Thankfully I've only seen one person on Gaia that I would put into this category. And they remained mainly because not enough people reported not because a large number of people liked them. This here underlines a major flaw in a strike system which is what Gaia uses when it comes to legitimate reports.

The difficult decision comes with the different modding styles of all of our mods.

Bella - (sorry if I got you wrong) - Is someone who would rather talk than take action, putting advice in here and there and posting as more of a member and keeping an eye on things.

Dronze - (REALLY sorry if I get this wrong) - Seems to be the guy who will sit back and relax until something happens and then pick it apart to find a comedical gesture that comes out of it and then base something on how "Stupid" the people were being.

Stratus & other mods - (?) - I haven't exactly seen most of them post online, so I cannot really judge them so I won't say anything at all

Me - (And here is where I get bad mouthed) - I like to take direct action to stop it before it continues unless the guild shifts its weight against me, which happens alot in actuality. I base the decisions on how it effects the other members of our guild. If it gets multiple people in an uppity situation I give them strikes.

`

And because we are all so different the time to get together and actually have a set and CONFORMED council that would have any order is next to improbable. We would have to work with eachother which doesn't happen alot actually its sort of...every man for himself I guess...but if you guys would like to implement the 3 strike policy feel free to pipe up, I'll make the vote.
