I'll be playing a solo piano recital in 2 months - it'll be about 45 minutes long. I know that to prepare for that 45 minutes I will spend MANY HOURS practicing the next few weeks. I'm a Mom, so I don't get as much practice time as I used to - but I have practiced between 20 and 25 hours a week in the past.

HOW MUCH DO YOU PRACTICE? WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON?

I practice when i feel like it so my practice time varies. I usually play a bit every other day every day now though, starting to get more involved with sitting there playing. right now i'm working on a new song

I usually everytime I see a guitar -- even if it is not mine --
somtimes when I practice my fingers hurt so bad (from the strings), that I cant keep on playing; but I do anyway razz

Usually my family gets tired of hearing the songs after I spend more than a week on them, but that only applies to piano and flute because I don't live close enough to anyone who could give guitar lessons, so all I know is what I've taught myself...sometimes I beat myself up about that part, but that's what I get for living in a dead end town....

I practice only when I have the time. xd But I normally practice the Vocal Chords in Choir. Right now, I am sick from OVER-practice. (TOO MUCH PRACTICING FOR ME! LOL!)

I practice every day just about for at least 20 to 30 minutes. sometimes if I get in the zone and I'm completely focused I'll play for at least an hour before I realize it.

When I was in college I sometimes felt that way - usually it's just a matter of finding the right piece to get motivated again!

I used to practice 24/7 but s**t changed. I gotta find time for my visual art (paintings sculptures etc.) and my music, i can't really mess with effects and electrics as much as before, i sometimes do but mostly i just pick up my acoustics and mes around while i watch the tv haha. I also jam with whoever i can whenever i can. It's a good way to get different influences. even if it's not your style, play along for a jam or two. You'll learn some new s**t and maybe even see what they see in their music.
