The company Geneon (and they own pretty much every company that puts out anime) pull out of the U.S because not many people are buying anime there finding it online and saving it on there computer and burning it onto disk. So because of a-holes that are CHEATING THE SYSTEM and too CHEAP to buy anime in the stores, everyone else has to suffer.
WE NEED TO START COMPLAINING PEOPLE TO GENEON OR WILL NEVER HAVE ANIME AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND IF THIS COMPANY DOES COME BACK TO THE U.S PLEASE STOP FINDING THE ANIME ONLINE. JUST BUY IT.

Uh.. yes, Geneon has stopped distributing anime. I'm not clear on whether they're stopping only distribution or all company functions altogether; nor what the justification for their actions is, because neither has been officially announced. But even if no other companies pick up Geneon's old titles for distribution, the anime market in the US is in no way jeopardized. This is just one company.

But Genon is a sweet company... It would suck if they stopped....
P.S. I don't watch anime in English anyhow, so this doesn't really affect me that much.

I agree in a way. You shouldn't watch anime online exclusivly or else all anime companies could eventually go the way of Geneon, but that doesn't mean we should stop altogether. But if you can, please buy the DVDs, because it helps the companies.

Well, there goes my Kyo Kara Maoh, Saiyuki Reload, and Saiyuki Reload: Gunlock... Thank god for the internet and downloads! I don't mind watching them with subs, and Geneon isn't exactly my favorite company anyway. I prefer ADV, Funamation, and VIZ.
And I know where you can legally watched dubbed anime... blaugh

All I've ever done with downloading anime was download fansubs of anime that I can't get a hold of or weren't even in the U.S. (I have a hard time buying anime. Not only because I'm broke, but I live in pueblo, and the only stores we have that sell anime are best buy, which only has mainstream (like naruto, dbz, etc.) that I don't want to buy, and a small anime store which has more card and board games than it does anime or even manga.)
Also if this would jepordize the anime in america, there's always fansubs on the internet.

I love the DVDs, there are some ways to access them that you can't get from downloading. But they are sooo expersive that I prefer downloading. I'm not going to buy 270 DVDs because I love anime too much. I would be broke.

The halarity to this is that if you complain they will reply "Don't complain to us complain to the people downloading the anime" =/ Also the reason why some anime should have trailers up on some sites =/
