So Five Corners- the pagan shop I worked at for ages is up for sale.

I hope against hope that I will be the one to buy it.

But I was wondering-

If you owned an occult shop, what would it look like? What would you stock?

I've accually thought about that alot myself. I hope one day to also own an metaphysical shop.

Well, my favourite local shop is all pretty inside. It creates a cliche but nice atmosphere.
My shop would have dark walls and 'new age' style music would play. Plus, my shop would smell nice xD It'd have a notice board too!

I'd sell a range of high quality incense sticks (as opposed to ones that smell like cigarette smoke >.<), essential oils, candles, candle holders and incense cones.
I'd also sell dried herbs.

The books would have to be approved by me, strictly anti silver ravenwolf! This would be one of the places in the shop where I just would not allow fluff.
I'd sell a specialist range of crystals, including some of the harder to obtain ones.

In addition to this, i'd sell altar tools, tarot cards, oracle cards, deity statues and pendulums. Plus fancy looking altar cloths and big silver gothic jewelry etc (this is my more selfish side, I'd sell the cliche stuff because it makes money, even if it's the really stupid stuff).

There are other things I'd sell too, but they escape me at the time being xD

In addition to what Patch mentioned, I would likely include some items from Holy Clothing and misc. animal parts.

In addition to what I mentioned (lol) i'd sell charms and other oddities, as well animal parts as tea said.
Goat skulls and things (heh, I nearly managed to obtain one today!).

Although I think items like this would be in the back or something and only available if people ask.

Heh, I used to joke that if I owned a shop, I'd place it between a middle and high school.

Cause I'm evil like that.

I would probably sacrifice the first a*****e that came in, other than myself of course (that would be awkward) as a notice to not be a rude jerk off. Probably would sell incense, but not have any lit, cause it kills my sinuses, and I would not have new age music playing. Maybe more classical music. not sure what else. every new age place i have gone into looked either like hot topic or happy, happy joy, joy/

Decor...
I would be shooting for "Old World Library" feel.

I think I would even pick up some old card catalog drawers and fill them with odds and ends.

Yeah, a library look mixed with a museum would be kind of cool

with all the new agey outfits and scarfs in the back

and the incense in the back, and not by the counter

or rather where I could see it from the counter

Naw, the business savvy person in me says keep the oils and incense and candles near the counter. Perfect impulse buy items.

Oh- and a beautiful old china cabinet with a lock and lovely glass front for dusty, musty occult books.

True, but the health in me says no, cause it makes me sneeze. That would make fro some interesting incense thought.
