emo haters: stupid, jealous, or secretly love the music

I know this will bring negitivty, but I just wanna here what you guys say. BTW: I don't agree with any of this crap.

But this is something I've never really understood. Why do people think stuff like "all cutters are 'emo''. Or "emo's are just the people goths and punks make fun of," and "I don't understand whos mom would let them leave the house like that." with of course "They just want attention and don't like to have fun."

So are they just stupid or do they really believe every 'emo' or anything close to it just pity themselves all the time. I don't get why anyone would believe this crap and I'm tired of seeing it in other guilds, websites, and people in my collage. I keep getting the feeling that they're running into people who are trying to hard to fit into to the sterotype 'emo'. You know what I'm talking about. The people that cut on purpose then show off. The annoying whinners that NEVER shut up and the people who are attention whores.

But then I think that they could be jealous. They like the lifestyle and all its quirks, but are afraid of what people will think of them if they admitted it. I've even met some people who thought bands like The Fray, and Linkin Park were emo. I've even had people tell me they thought Coldplay was emo, (because they wear a lot of black) and they're so far from depressing if any band could be.

However, its not emo in general people are against, its the whole pomposity of the culture, the way people with in seem to take it so seriously and the way they are so quick too dismiss anyone not like them as a poseur. Now I'm not saying all are like that, but the most vocal bunch are and its those that reflect upon the rest of you.

Admittingly, I do dress somewhat emo. Not really.
And I do listen to emotive hardcore rock music.
But I can't stand the stereotype. The whole cutting, depressed, sit-in-a-corner-and-cry thing.

And seriously guys, I like the tight pants and all but no...they orignially made that for women. you guys look real nice in it. I mean it doesn't leave much for the imagination, at least for me but still.
