Remember Thunder Cats and Smurfs and old school TMNT? and Cartoons that taught you stuff about how to be a good human being like Care Bears and Capitan Planet... And Cartoons that taught you stuff like School House Rock and Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego
Fox and ABC had the best cartoons and WB wasn't around yet
Ah man those were the days. I miss those cartoons. WTF is the ADD crap they're showing to kids these days? The only things worth watching are the adult targeted shows like Family Guy and such, but it's nothing like the good wholesome cartoons of our youth.
There's Anime but once an american company licenses it gets mutated into so much ADD Crap like the rest of them. Believe it!
So lets all b***h about the crap kids are watching these days and reminisce about the cartoons of our childhood ^^
What was your fav childhood cartoon?

I really liked Thunder Cats and the Smurfs. I also liked The Snorks, The Paw Paws, Gummi Bears, He-Man, Shera, The Fraggles, and Rainbow Brite. Yes, I was a TV addict. There are probably more that I'm just not remembering at the moment.

Ah, The Disney Club (seems easier than listing all the Disney cartoons I used to watch!), Count Duckula, DangerMouse, Inspector Gadget, SuperTed, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Dogtanian, Willy Fog, Dungeons & Dragons, Teddy Ruxpin, Tiny Toons (1989 if I remember correctly)...
Happy days of my youth smile Yet, believe it or not, I still made it outside and climbed trees and roller skated and fell off my bike and did all the other things kids used to do...

I don't know the name of the cartoon ...but..my all-time favorite is the bulldog who ends up making friends with the tiny black and white kitten with the big eyes..then the ones with "Frisky" the dog (He'd bark all of a sudden and the cat would yowl and end up upside down hanging from the ceiling by his claws), Yakky Doodle, The acme coyote and the sheepdog Ralph and Sam I think?...Looney Tunes cartoons, Max Fleisher cartoons

There were some great cartoons. uneditted looney tunes... where you actually see wild e. cayote fall off cliffs.
but some really weren't that good. yes, captain planet had a good message but it was an awfull cartoon. I always thought it painful to watch.

Captain Planet was awesome, well, at least I thought so when I was a kid. I've always wondered how the kid with the "Heart" ring dealt with the fact that he was royally screwed when it came to ring power. Everyone else had the "cool" elemental powers...and he could psuedo talk to animals. Poor kid.

I always wondered that to, I mean yeah talking to animals is kinda cool but I'd pick controlling fire or water over that any day! I loved all sorta cartoons when I was young. Smurfs, He-man, Rainbow Bright, Old school TMNT (newest obsession is rewatching all of these), Thundercats, X-men, old school Scooby, Ghostbusters, Transformers!!, G.I. Joe, and so many others. Course I enjoy some of the new cartoons as well, my favorite of all is the Avatar series, seriously if you haven't watched it check it out! It's got action, serious peril and drama, humor, and a plot that keeps you plastered to the TV. Makes me want to get cable and Nickelodeon just so I don't have to wait for the dvd's to be released!

I am a cartoon junkie -- was since the '80s. Some of my favorite cartoons are as follows (I still watch them when I happen to pass by them on the tele--) 1. ThunderCats 2. GI Joe 3. He-Man (have the first season on DVD) 4. Transformers 5. Scooby-Doo 6. Rocky and Bullwinkle (have the first season on DVD) 7. Thundaar the Barbarian 8. Battle of the Planets (didn't know it was anime until my 20s) 9. Dungeons and Dragons (may buy the entire series for a christmas present to myself!) 10. Animanics 11. School House Rock 12. Gargoyles
soo many others....old school Popeye (Fleischer) and pretty much anything Hanna/Barbera (God bless their souls!)
(sorry so long -- the memories this post brought back were soo good!)

I used to be ashamed of liking the Smurfs....I got ragged about it til I didn't like them anymore (and let's face it, some of the later seasons were stinkers..)
I also liked Pufnstuf, do still, just that I know some people don't have the same tolerances I do to cute, so never rented the DvDs....Anyone remember the Bugaloos?
Dangermouse, a friend turned me on to that one....very funny.
Beetlejuice...one of the few reasons why I can stand my own first name-Lydia.
AstroBoy was another good one, would like to see the original version in Japanise sometimes.
Scooby Doo was also cute, does anyone remember Frankenstein Jr and the Impossibles?
