Okay, so I think we all know that since Revenge, MCR has trasnformed.
I personally think that they had a much more individual feel during revenge...And much more of a punk theme. Now, they're much more pop.. Kind of like a 7th Grade fad.
What do you guys think about their change?
I mean, I love MCR either way, and I think the Black Parade is awesome, and trust me, I'm not just being immature. Their new phase is very unique, and I totally love it. I also clearly understand that they're just growing, like every other average band does.

I miss three cheers, but I love TBP, But then again it'd get boring if they kept making CDs that sound the same as Three cheers, so I'm glad that they made something diffrent. : )

I do miss the old Revenge days. To me is just seemed like that had more of a message back then. But I do like the new stuff.

I think thast all bands change their sound once in a while. Otherwise, they might get boring if they just play the same type of music all the time. I personally love the change and they're no way they're going back to like they were during Revenge and I accept that. I mean, what other bands sing about teenagers scaring the s**t outta them?

Haha, yeah. I really miss the feel of Three Cheers, and like I said, the more punk style.
The Black Parade is awesome! I just miss the fast, harsh, excitement of Revenge, hehe.

I mean the excitement of the time. Like in during the years of 2004-early2006, I mean the excitement of the currentness. I'm not okay and Helena constantly on the radio, magazines being filled with My Chemical Romance in their Revenge theme, you know?
...And it also has to do with my personal life. My life was a lot nicer during that time, and a lot less complicated. Around the Black Parade I was verryyy excited about it's new coming, but some less fortunate events had happened, so yeah. Not to mention as I got older, so did the band
I know, I'm weird.

Eh heh. This is kind of embarassing, but the beginning of my fan-dom is more recent. I started liking My Chem within the last year or so. So, although I hate to say it, I had no clue of MCR during the Revenge era. Well, I saw the Helena video and the I'm Not Okay video on MTV when they first cae out, and I liked them. Helena really made me think. But after a while I just forgot about them until sort of recently.
But...eh...I don't know. I really like Revenge. They did have this feeling to them that they seemed to have lost. They had more of a message then. It's not like they don't have a message now, just listen to Famous Last Words, but.......it's just.....eehhhhh.
I said they lost that feeling. Well, I said that like a bad thing. They lost the old feeling, but now have a new feeling.
And I have to agree with liesthatwebleed. What other band sings about teenagers scaring the ____ outta them?

I know the Revenge Era was fast and aggressive, but the new Black Parade looks awesome to me.
But actually, I could careless what kinda of clothes they could wear. They could wear clothes drenched in blood, to frilly pink too-too's. [e.o My eyes they burn!!!]
But, I love My Chemical Romance for what they stand for. ^^

I loved the raw intensity of Revenge. But I also love the bigger, grander sound of The Black Parade. I think that maybe the "lack" of feeling you're talking about is sort of their stage presence with TBP. It's like a rock opera, which isn't usually like...revenge-esque. It's grander, quieter, but that doesn't mean it won't creep up on you in the middle of the night and slit your throat scream
I think that intense emotion is still there, just in a different form. They're still our same boys, and now that they've secured a fanbase, I agree, the initial excitement of them is over (meaning that in the sense of being in magazines, on TV, etc). That's something that happens to every band.
All I can say is remember that they're never going to change, no matter what direction the music goes in, and that there's another album to wait for 3nodding

at least they will get this little ziggystardustesque (yes I made a word with ziggy stardust) phase they may make another concept album that will bring back the fans who were turned off by the Black Parade. Although me personally loving the sound of classic and british rock and punk type sounds completly loved this album. But I also love three cheers becuase I like angry music but not I can't understand what they are saying.

Yes. We're all saying the same thing basically about their changed.
Sadly I remember my first MCR song. It was The Ghost of You's music video and remember it because I said something along the lines of "Ew. What type of a name is My Chemical Romance? A*Teens are so much better..."
But yes. Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge had a certain something to it. Now when I have to group them I throw them into the Emo-Pop along with FOB and P!ATD, not that they suck or anything, I love them too. I think they just sorta blended to make the top charts

I understand what they're doing with this album and it's so cool. But it's more their musical style that I fear is becoming too mainstream.
Are they gonna be the next Green Day? (as in everyone likes one song and thinks they're a fan and then no one really cares)
I've been trying to find a place to say that I was completely dissapointed with "Kill All Your Friends". It was way too light and happy.
