OOC READ THIS FIRST.
This is an open RP in which the Point (that is, the alpha, beta, and elder) are brought together to discuss important pack matters. It is open to the pack to come and witness, voice concerns, offer solutions, and speak their opinions. It is lead by the alpha, but the intent is to hear the voices of the pack. Here are some general things to know before jumping in:
There is no prize for this RP. It is simply participation and a way to involve yourself in the community. If your character posts a minimum 250 words, it can be used as an RP towards their breeding requirements! If you want a specific issue to be discussed, wonderful! It would be helpful to let Faith known in advance, though, so it can be well played out in-canon. This ORP will be open for a minimum of one-week, but allowed to continue as long as needed/appropriate. If you are directly replying to someone, be sure to quote them! OOC discussion is encouraged either in the discord channel or in the thread. If commenting OOC while posting a role played response, be sure to add a quote bubble and label its "OOC" so as to be clear you, the user, are speaking. If you have any questions regarding Kell's role playing, refer to this thread for more information.
(Some possible) Topics of Discussion:
Need for pack numbers Opening the point up as breeding prospects Congratulations again, Hawkflight! And welcome Red Tail! The alpha has chosen a mate! (uh-oh, #2) The coming winter season and preparing for it Announcing a new healer: Sambar Reaching out to other packs for alliance Any pack grievances or disputes Want to add something? Let Faith know!

Thrush entered the clearing first, arriving slightly earlier than scheduled. This was the first of these that he had ever led himself and a chronic fear of being late made him anxious. The meeting time and location had been spread by word of mouth, and announced at the conclusion of the Hare Hunt. That having gone over smoothly enough, he was hopeful the same would be said for today.
He approached the center, seating himself in the beautiful gold of the forest floor. They, that is Willow and Dusk, had agreed to meet in the center of the pack lands, near the dens. The sun was beaming warmly through the tree canopy and he was grateful for it. Soon, it would become cold enough to pimple the skin. As it was, the crisp of fall was still in the air.
He now muled over the various topics on the agenda. It was just a fear of being late that had made him anxious, his subconscious knew. One of the more important things to discuss (or well, more important to him), was one that he expected would cause strife with Magpie. They were only so newly formed that he was hesitant to press her with the responsibilities that come with being alpha. The more intimate responsibilities... but were they that? Responsibilities? His pursed his lips in thought.
Hearing an approach, and grateful for the interruption, Thrush turned his eye yellows with welcome.
OOC Welcome everyone! I know we *just* had an ORP, but we were so excited to have a pack meeting that I went ahead and rolled on with it. Plus, we have some pretty exciting things to discuss! Feel free to throw your character in at any time as this will not have sign ups or deadlines in order to respond or participate. Feel to discuss things, too, OOC in the discord thread! n3n

Bird sat neatly in her spot, awaiting Thrush's words. She too had been early, as she was often to do, and as wolves poured in she watched with a critical glance. Hopefully, everyone would turn up, and on time.
Especially her.
Her eyes flicked to examine the groups coming in, looking for Maple. She was sure the wolf would try and pull something, whether it be coming as late as possible or not showing up altogether. Of course, as predicated, she didn't see Maple as she counted the heads. A part of her was tempted to head out and find the rebellious wolf, but another part of her didn't want to risk returning late.
Why did Maple never follow the rules? She was the Beta's daughter! She huffed, returning her glance to her father patiently.
Minnow trailed in at the correct time, as she often did. She flicked her eyes up to look at Willow Bark, tail wagging once at her mate before she returned her attention to finding a spot. Her eyes locked on Bird and for a moment she smiled at the stiff wolf, stifling a laugh. Ah, she could tell who Bird was looking for; her daughter, Maple. She hadn't seen Maple for a moment but was sure she'd turn up soon enough out of boredom.
She settled in a tidy spot of leaves, shifting until she was comfortable. Her tail thumped softly, cheeks flushing as she glanced at her partner. He looked awfully cute standing up front!

What a thrill to see the first Hare Hunt in their new home, Dusk Owl had thought. It had made him feel nostalgic for the years when he had participated, back before his hip had pulled him out of the race. In a way it was its own christening of the pack lands, and the excitement and suspense of it had given him hope that the Swiftfell were truly back on the rise. But that wasn't the only old tradition that needed to be attended to.
The elder sat by Thrush wrapped in his mother's old bearskin, grateful for its warmth as the winter began to encroach once again. A glance at the alpha told Dusk Owl that there was a lot on the other's mind...Well, putting it out into the open forum was the best practice. Dusk Owl was a great orator (read: a windbag), and he had experience moderating previous meetings before: nudging conversations between the various wolves, ensuring all sides were heard and discussed, and summarizing lengthy topics would be his tools, and they were at the ready. He smiled at the gathering throng before leaning towards Thrush and murmuring, "Deep breaths, old friend. We are with you."
As Forest Shadow approached, he dipped his head in greeting. "Of course we do," Dusk Owl assured her cheerfully. "Who could forget the one recruited by such a sweet, and rather adventurous, pup? How are you settling, dear?"

Sometimes, Hazel wondered why Maple was the way she was. Contrarian to a fault. Headstrong. Willful. But hey, she loved her anyway, even if she basically had to chase her down and drag her to the pack gathering herself!
"How're you gonna be alpha one day if you don't know what's going on?" Hazel reasoned. "Besides, we can make a dramatic entrance together!"
Dramatic to Hazel meant trumpeting their approach with a song. She danced lightly around her sister, half shepherding and half entertaining as they made their way to the rest. "Announcing future alpha Maple~!" she sang-song, delighted to hear a few snorts. Spying Bird, she directed Maple to go sit with her, her eyes darting about to find and drag in her other siblings as she did. "Heya, Birdie! Mind if we sit with you?" Ooh, maybe she could get Mom to come sit with them too. Just be a gaggle of gals together watching their Dads-slash-mate up there!

Bird snapped her gaze without even turning her head when she heard a familiar sing song voice, eyes sternly locking on Maple, who followed with the expression of someone marching to death itself. Good, she was here. She looked approvingly at Hazel, head finally turning as she glanced at the spot beside her.
"If that pleases you. It is not currently in use," she dryly answered, but that was just Bird as an entity. Truly, she was happy to see Hazel, having grown fond of her best friends sister as well along the way. She shifted, allowing both girls to come close.
"What a pleasure it is to see you've tended to your duties as a member of this pack, Maple," she added pointedly, although harshness did not reach her voice.
Maple rolled her eyes as her sister lured her to the group, stiffening slightly as her best friend shot her a look. She flashed a grin immediately, for one accepts the risks of a glare or two when they befriend someone as much of a stick in the mud as Bird was. "When I'm Alpha we won't have meetings," she protested towards Hazel as they slipped closer, eventually taking one side of Bird and flopping down harshly.
"Yeah yeah, thank her -- she doesn't turn off. I had to come or else she'd start singing about our parents again, and I hate that story."

Willow glanced over at Thrush, noting that he was already busy with greetings, before puffing his cheeks up and breathing out heavily. Honestly, he was nervous. He wasn't sure if it was stage fright getting to him or simply the topic he knew would be discussed. Looking out into the crowd, Minnow stuck out like a sore paw. A very beautiful sore paw, that is. He smiled involuntarily, even though he could feel his stomach flipping. Talk had come up recently that the point may have to, ahem, replenish the numbers of the pack. Willow had absolutely no desire to succumb to that fate. His relationship with Minnow was brilliant and strong, and he wanted nothing to disturb that. Turning his attention away, he focused his eyes and ears on Forest Shadow. He had seen his son, Hoot, liaising with the pretty wolf. He didn't want to assume anything, of course, but it was odd for Hoot to act in such a way. Unfortunately, Hoot was back in the sick dens with one of the healers, Hidden Away. Such a soft and gentle wolf, she had volunteered, allowing most if not all of the healers the opportunity to attend if they so chose. It was a kind act, and Willow much appreciated it. Moving his sight from Forest Shadow to the crowd amassing, Willow smiled at seeing that at least two – wait, make that three! – of his daughters were in attendance. He just hoped they would fare alright with whatever it is the point needed to discuss.
Magpie toddled her way in, a bounce in her step. She knew that Thrush would be, in some manner, publicly recognizing their mateship at this convening. And, though she could see some of his children with another wolf in attendance, this still made her feel over the moon. And of course, his children were a delight — she couldn't fault them for coming into Thrush's life one bit.
Her tail wagged, a bit too ferociously, as she stared at Thrush and took a seat by a tree at the edge of the clearing. "Eager" didn't even begin to explain it. She couldn't imagine that they had much else to talk about, really — although she had noticed something seeming a bit off-kilter with Thrush in recent days, almost like something was getting to him, but she really couldn't imagine what.
Ghost Whisper yawned widely, stepping her way into the clearing and glancing about. Quickly, she noticed the point center stage, with Minnow off to the side by herself, and her half-sisters Maple and Hazel noisily making their way in. She snorted in response, forever entertained by the antics of the two wolves. They'd been a hysterical pairing since puphood, and constantly made Ghost feel blessed at having found the pack and experienced this life she would have never known as a rogue. She glanced about lazily before settling into the inner circle gathered around the point. She hoped someone would sit down with her, — maybe Bluebell Wood? — as she often felt so alone without another by her side.

Huckleberry Horizon looked a lot like his father now that he was full grown, but an ignoble version: he had a fox's face and a coyote's eyes, the black markings around them especially highlighting how untrustworthy he appeared when those eyes darted about; he had legs like his mothers, always on the move, always kneading the earth like a cat growing cozy; and the honeyed words that came out were usually too good to be true, always self-serving. He was there not to show support for his father but out of curiosity: something had been itching at Thrush, and now that he spied a certain someone's very enthusiastic response to seeing him, he started to put the pieces he had been collecting together.
Get it, Daddy-o. Far be it from Huck of all people to stop him from hitting up whatever lady he wanted. Huck himself was aspiring to have a harem, after all. He needed to really start applying pressure about that, actually...A girl at every port, as they say.
(One could say he had chosen Caretaker as his rank specifically for the purpose of "looking good with kids.")
Ghost Whisper was his first victim by virtue of her being closest, though he still eyed that throng of the beta's and alpha's kids as he moved. Huckleberry plopped down casually next to her like they had always been friends and exhaled. "Bored already," he said, examining the claws of one paw. "Talk to me, Ghost. Sad to hear about the Hare Hunt, I heard you were close."

Mourning Dove hadn't won the Hare Hunt, but she still felt as though it brought her closer to her pack mates. That said, once a lone wolf... well, not always, but it was hard for her to come back to the spirited young thing she was all the time, prior to her mother's death.
She'd come to the discussion, eager to hear what the Point were to be, well, discussing. That said, once she was there, she was having a tricky time figuring out who she was able to sit next to. The most familiar and comforting face of the lot was Dusk Owl, the handsome elder, but he was a member of the Point... she couldn't go and sit with them.
I'm no one important, I'm just a hunter. If she'd won the Hare Hunt, maybe it would be different, but she hadn't and it wasn't.
So, she ended up sitting away from the other wolves, but close enough to hear whatever was being discussed. She was still there, at least. She was still contributing.

Ghost Whisper | Protector | Speaking with Huck and Hawkflight
She wasn't alone for long. Soon enough, one of Thrush's, Huck, made his way over to her. Ghost was smart enough to be just ever so slightly wary around the male; it was known enough that he was apt to saying whatever it took to do whatever he wanted, so it was tough to trust the words out of his mouth. She quite enjoyed his presence, though — she was sure he was a good wolf at heart, and even if not, he was fun to be around nonetheless.
At Huck's question, Ghost Whisper playfully rolled her eyes. "Oh, don't remind me," she said, "I was this close to being the reigning champion. It almost feels like I've put my father to shame, but I suppose it's not the worst thing to have happened to me."
Rather immediately, Hawkflight, the actual winner of the hare hunt, and her new familiar Redtail settled in to watch the happenings. Ghost smiled and tilted her head to the other protector. "Huck and I were just talking about you two. Great to see you both getting along so well — you make quite the pair." She smiled, genuine and friendly, flickering her eyes among the three before her.
"Hm, I hope there's nothing too dramatic to discuss today. I'm not sure I have the energy for much more than bemoaning the upcoming snowy season," she spoke to no one in particular.
Willow Bark | Beta | Open for interaction
Willow kept his attention on Minnow, smiling as he saw Gill make his way over to his dear mother. The pit in Willow Bark's stomach was growing moment by moment, and he just wasn't sure he had the willpower in him to socialize. While others came by to pay their tributes to Thrush, he nodded and awkwardly smiled at each one, silently hoping someone might approach him to distract him for the brief moments before the actual discussion got rolling.
Magpie | Caretaker | Joining Gill and Minnow
Her eyes were trained on her new mate, watching carefully as he interacted with others, searching for some sign as to what had been gnawing at him as of late. He, however, seemed fine enough — greeting everyone with pleasantries and doing his utmost as the leader of their pack.
Unable to sit there alone for any longer, Maggie slowly rose to her paws and wandered over to Minnow's sidem where she spoke to her son Gill. She was such a sweet and tender wolf, and she knew her brother was incredibly lucky to have found such an incredible being out in the rogue wilderness. The pack as a whole was lucky, really — Minnow was a bright beacon even on the darkest of nights, she was so sweet and beloved. Magpie could only wonder how long it would be until she popped out litter number two.
"Hey, you too, I hope I'm not interrupting anything," she said to Minnow and Gill, nodding at each of them in greeting.

Gill | Hunter | Chatting with Minnow and Magpie “I’m well and I would be honored to sit by such a magnificent lady.” Gill scuffed a few rocks out of the way and sat to her right. A moment later more company showed. “Auntie Mag!” Gill took to calling her that from a young age and it just stuck. He rose out of respect and nuzzled her head. “Do join us, yes! How are you?” He sat back into his spot.
Hawkflight and Redtail | Protector and Familiar | Company of Ghost and Huck Hawkflight made a special effort to ignore Huck. Not normally one to judge, there was something about him that was putting her off.
“Yes, we’re getting on pretty well, mostly.” She glanced at Redtail, who was trying to desperately to straighten her fur, yet again. The spunky hare met her gaze for a moment and made a brazen face, just for fun.
The she-wolf smiled. It was actually nice to finally get to know some of her packmates and to make a new friend with Redtail. Hawkflight had primarily kept to herself up until now. The hare hunt had been good for her, dragging her out of her shell, so to speak.

Halycon | Protector | with Bird, Maple, Hazel
Halcyon arrived only a little late to the gathering in a swift trot; of course, if you asked her, it hadn’t started… and therefore, she was not late, per se. With the confidence that came natural to her, she crossed the center of the clearing and took place next to her sister, Bird, Maple and Hazel. Ignoring the look she was sure she would be getting by her ever so punctual sister, Hal instead scanned the clearing for who all had arrived… and who were missing. There was her father, of course, old Dusk, Willow… she felt her cheeks warm slightly at the sight of their beta. Lingering a second longer on his father’s closest friend, she continued on. Bird, Maple, Hazel of course. Magpie. She didn’t know how she felt about that one yet… Minnow received a cursory glance, then Rain Song, Huck. She rolled her eyes at her brother, knowing he didn’t give a lick for what the Point had to say today. Gill, Hawkflight, Sparrow, Mourning Dove, Ghost, Forest… not a bad turn out.
