Enter the Dream World...

Welcome to the Dream World Mystery Dungeon event, inspired by the Dream World and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series! This event is for Pokemon Only, trainers will not be allowed.

Register your character's pokemon to have them fall into a deep sleep and travel to a special area of the Dream World, where they will take place in a Mystery Dungeon race. The stakes are high, the challenges are difficult, but the rewards will be legendary.

If you missed the start of the event, but still want to register after, you're more than welcome to do so, just be aware that you will potentially be at a disadvantage for placement prizes depending on how late you start.

To register for this event, go to the Dream World Mystery Dungeon Registration Forum and follow the registration instructions listed there.

Floor Plans

Each level will require a set number of steps. The boss at the end will be revealed when a pokemon enters that level-- so for instance, when the first post is made at level one, the boss will be revealed, and when the first pokemon that reaches level two is posted for, the boss for that level will be revealed.

The floor plan, however, will be accessible at all times, and are as follows:
    Level One: 30 steps
Step 5: +10 exp to the pokemon
Step 10: Claim any item worth 20 posts or less.
Step 15: Roll to move again
Step 20: +10 exp to a the pokemon
    Step 23: x2 Star Shards
    Step 25: Exp reset
Step 30: Guardian Fight (2 HP)

    Level Two: 20 steps
Step 5: Free move reset - you can replace any of your current moves with ones that your pokemon can learn naturally through level up, up to it's current level
    Step 10: x3 heartscales
Step 12: Roll to move again
    Step 15: x1 Exp Share
Step 20: Guardian Fight (5 HP)

    Level Three: 30 steps
    Step 5: x5 rare candies
Step 10: Claim a crystal shard
Step 15: Roll to move again
Step 20: Roll a 4-sided die. The number you get is the number of levels your pokemon gains-- but their exp counter (x/15-50) must be changed as well.
Step 22: Claim x3 Star shards
Step 25: Roll to move again
Step 30: Guardian Fight (7 HP)

    Level Four: 15 steps
Step 5: Claim any item worth 30 posts or less.
Step 7: Roll to move again
Step 10: You made a pokemon friend! Claim any psychic or starter pokemon at level 15
Step 13: Claim any Vs. Seeker, Dowsing Machine, or Explorer's Kit
Step 15: Guardian Fight (10 HP)

    Level Five: 30 steps
Step 5: Claim any event item
Step 10: +20 exp to pokemon
Step 15: Claim any event pokeball
Step 20: Roll to move again
Step 22: Balm Mushroom your pokemon-- roll two types, and give your pokemon any move of either type, or your pokemon's original type(s). Can reroll if you roll your pokemon's type(s)
    Step 25: x25 Star Shards
Step 30: Ultimate Nightmare Boss Fight (?? HP)

Progression

There are a total of five floors, each with a number of steps required to progress to the next floor. Progressing through each floor is done by rolling a 6-sided die to determine the number of steps you can make for that pokemon in the Dream World Mystery Dungeon RNG Thread or the post you make with your pokemon in the main event thread. This can be done once a day per participating pokemon, unless stated otherwise or a bonus roll is gained.

Rolling a 1-3 results in moving 3 steps
    4-5 results in 5 steps
    6 results in 6 steps

You may take the resulting steps rolled, or less, should you choose, but you must move at least one step if you roll to move. If you don't want to move at least one step, you must forfeit your post for that pokemon each day until you want to move again.

You must maintain a step counter in your post and provide a link to your rolls (if done in the event RNG thread) or edit your post after posting with the RNG, adjusting the step counter appropriately as you progress. Certain steps on each level will yield different prizes, should you land on them. Because you can choose to take less steps than you roll, you can choose to sacrifice movement in order to collect certain prizes.

Items

You may give your pokemon a held item before entering the event, but mysteriously, only berries that heal HP will transfer over with the pokemon's subconscious.

Additionally, each member entering the event will be given Elixirs of Speed. Elixirs can be used at any point during the event, and when used, they give an additional movement roll or attack.

Each RPer is limited to four elixirs total, meaning that if you are entering the event with more than one pokemon, you will have to decide how you want to divide up the elixirs.

You must keep track of these in your posting format for the pokemon, and you must subtract accordingly and quote a mod when using one.

Sometimes, if someone is getting particularly bad rolls consistently, the dream world may intervene to give them an assist with an extra elixir. This will not be done if the person is simply unable to post, only if the person has been active in the event but their movement rolls have been consistently bad, and they are falling behind as a result.

Battling

    Guardians:
Guardians act as gatekeepers between the floors of the Dream World Mystery Dungeon. In order to move on to the next floor, you must defeat the guardian of that floor.

All opponents here in the Dream World are taken down by number of attacks endured, not damage taken. This applies to multi-hit moves as well, which only count as one attack hit. Some guardians won't attack in return, so that you don't have to worry about healing and taking damage, but as you progress, they may begin to retaliate.

Guardians appear at the end of the day when at least one pokemon reaches the final step of a floor level. Multiple guardians can be present at the same time. Each pokemon will only have to defeat one to progress to the next floor, but they must at least hit or use an assist move against a guardian to move on to the next floor.

Once you land on the last step of a floor, you will trigger a guardian battle. If you rolled more than you need to reach the last step, you may use the extra rolls to attack the guardian once. So for instance, say you're on step 28 of level 1, which requires 30 steps to reach the guardian, and you roll a 6, but want to wait for a friend. You can move to step 29 (the minimum of one step) and wait until others have caught up with you before rolling to move again. If you roll to move the next day, you must move to step 30, and will be able to attack. However, if you were on step 27, and roll a 1-3 which gives you 3 steps, you will land on step 30 and not be able to attack the guardian until the following day.

    Group Raids:

Pokemon can work together to take down a guardian. BUT, for pokemon to work together, they must arrive on the same day. Group raids against a guardian can be no larger than 5 pokemon.

We will have a Raid Planning Thread for those of you who want to coordinate groups before taking on a guardian.

Guardians will be posted for at the end of the day for those that arrived. If pokemon have arrived on the same day but do NOT want to work together, they can say so and be given individual guardians of their own--otherwise, it will be assumed that they're going to work together to defeat the opponent. Remember, you have to stop BEFORE the final step if you want to wait for friends to join so you can team up-- you can't reach the final step and request that a guardian not show up until your friend gets there.

      Ultimate Nightmare:
The ultimate nightmare is the final fight of the Mystery Dungeon. Once pokemon start reaching their last step on the fifth and final floor, the ultimate nightmare will reveal itself, as well as its HP.

The ultimate nightmare fight will consist of two stages, each with it's own boss. First, the ultimate nightmare, and then darkrai once the nightmare is defeated.

Because this fight is the final fight of the event, it will function a bit differently. There will be no group restrictions, everyone who arrives after the fight begins will be able to jump in. This means once you have reached the last step of the fifth floor, you can start attacking the boss the next day.

Once Darkrai is subdued, the event will end, regardless of how far your pokemon have progressed in the event. Points will then be tallied, and prizes given out.

      Regaining HP:

Should you take damage at any point, you can take one day to recover all your HP. Alternatively, if you faint, you must take two days to recover, and then regain all your HP. You cannot attack on either one of those days.

If a guardian DOES attack, their damage will be done in percentages, not amounts. This way, a pokemon's level doesn't effect how long they'll last in a battle. Each hit will do 1/8 the max HP, so that a participating pokemon can take a total of 8 hits before they will faint.

If sent into the event with a HP restoring berry, they can use that berry to heal back some health once they have fallen below the 1/3 HP trigger.

      Attacking:

In the Dream World Mystery Dungeon, attacks function a little differently. Guardians and bosses will take the same amount of damage from any attack. There are no weaknesses, resistances, or type immunities, and each guardian/boss will only be able to endure a certain number of hits before it faints.

In battle, to have an attack count as a 'hit', it must be a damaging move. Like with taking steps to progress in the level of the dungeon, you may only attack once per day unless stated otherwise.

      Assist moves:

If a pokemon uses a move that helps allies, their allies (those fighting the same opponent in their raid group) get an additional hit on their next strike.

        Assist Moves:

        Acupressure
        Aromatherapy
        Aromatic Mist
        Aurora Veil
        Crafty Shield
        Gear Up
        Heal Bell
        Heal Pulse
        Healing Wish
        Helping Hand
        Hold Hands
        Light Screen
        Magnetic Flux
        Mist
        Quick Guard
        Reflect
        Tailwind
        Wide Guard
        Wish

If you have already attacked, and someone uses an assist move, you may attack again afterwards. Otherwise, you can make two attacks in one post.

Assist moves don't stack with other assist moves or a bonus attack from the elixir of speed, meaning at most, you can only get a bonus attack once per day, for a maximum of two attacks per day.

    Placing and Prizes

The event ends when the Ultimate Nightmare and Darkrai are defeated.

Placement in the event will be based on participation, and who "wins" is determined by who has the most participation points. Each pokemon entered in the event will have their own pool of participation points.

Here is the breakdown for how participation points are calculated:

+1 point for a movement post (bonus movement doesn't count, max of +1 point a day for posting movement)

+2 points for landing a hit on a guardian, or on bosses during the ultimate nightmare fight.

+4 points for using an assist move

This means that you can battle guardians on your own, and get to the boss later than the others, but still stand a chance at placing because you did all the fighting yourself. Alternatively, this system also rewards those who work together to reach the final boss quicker and, therefore, participate more towards ultimately defeating it and ending the event.

You can choose what to prioritize, whether you would rather take time collecting items, gathering hits on your own, or racing on through to the boss, working together, or focus on RPing. All are valid strategies depending on what you want to get out of this event.

The winner, however, will receive a very special prize-- a legendary pokemon. As runners up, however, the prizes are still fairly substantial, and everyone will receive a consolation prize for others. The prizes are as such:

      First Place: One legendary pokemon
      Second Place: 75 Star Shards
      Third Place: 50 Star Shards
If you entered the event, but did not place, you may claim x25 Star shards.

You may only claim one prize per RPer no matter how many pokemon you have entered in the event, or what their final point tally is. The prize you get is the highest placement, meaning if one of your pokemon has the highest number of participation points, and another has the third highest, you will only get the first place prize.

Winning the legendary from this event does count as one of the three allowed competitive legendaries.

Posting Format

    Just like posting in the guild, there is a certain amount of information you need to have in your post format;

-The total number of steps your pokemon has taken for the floor it is on
-A link to your movement roll (if not rolled with the post)
-How many steps you are choosing to take this post
-How many Elixirs of Speed you have
      -Participation points earned this post
      -Total participation points
-Pokemon's stats (Name, Species, Trainer, HP, EXP, Moveset, held item etc).
      -Attack used (if applicable)

Each post must also have the minimum of 3 to 5 decently sized sentences. If you would like to RP more, we will have a separate RP thread for RPing out extra content if you don't want to wait until the next day. These posts will not give you extra movement or items in the event, but you can earn the standard 1 EXP per post.

You Awaken...

... You awaken to find yourself in a very strange world, with twisted trees growing around you, fading into a thick, heavy purple mist. The air is light, despite how difficult it is to see, and there is a weightless feeling to your presence as you climb to your feet, raise your head, and begin to stir. It's hard to recall where you were last, or what happened, but you got the impression you had fallen asleep, and it's not all clear that this isn't a dream...

You see other pokemon around you, but why are you all here...?

As everyone wakes, a munna rushes into view, looking this way and that, before spotting the group.

"Help!" It rushes over, breathlessly addressing the crowd of pokemon. The fog lifts slightly, and it can be seen that the trees thin out in a particular direction, almost like a path, just behind the frantic psychic. "Please, you have to help us! Darkrai has taken over the dreamworld! He's trying to turn everyone's dreams into nightmares!"

She quickly goes on to explain that he's harbored himself further into the dream world, and that everyone will need to progress towards him. He's prepared, so they may have to fight guardians to reach each level, but anything they find here, they're welcome to keep, and they may come out a much different, and stronger, pokemon! Unfortunately, helping seems to also be the only way to escape, at least, according to the munna...

Xiao Lan opened her bright yellow eyes and blinked drowsily as she heard a voice calling for help. A funny pink looking pokemon looked quite upset, rambling on about dreams and darkness, or at least that's how the baby noibat interpreted it. But where was momma Olivia and papa Vince? The moment it dawned on Xiao Lan that her guardians weren't there with her, she frantically glanced around. Did she somehow get separated from them? The thought horrified the little noibat.

It wouldn't be the first time something like that had happened to her. First she'd been sucked out of her nice cozy cave and into the distortion world, and now it seemed she was lost once again. The thought brought tears to her eyes as she flitted about the mist. "Mooooommmaaaaaa?! Papaaaaaa?!" Ohhh.... Where were they?

As she zoomed ahead, the mist started to obscure her view, and she ended up slamming right into an intimidating looking torracat. "Eek!" She squeaked in surprise as she fell backwards into the ground from the force of the impact. "Owowowowwww....." Xiao Lan rubbed her little snout, which seemed to have taken the brunt of the blow, before glancing up wide eyed at the feline before her. "S-sorry....! I think I'm lost... Have you seen my momma and papa...? They're really big humans... One has fluffy pink hair, and the other is always scowling..." She sniffled, trying her best not to cry.

One moment she was dozing off in her Pokeball, the next she was stirring from sleep in a completely unfamiliar place. The sliver of eyes that belonged to the sleeping Spiriake began to part as she smelled the air. Something about it tasted off, fear, confusion, anger... normally tasty morsels but something seemed different about them this time. As she lifted her head, the Spiriake looked around to find she was surrounded by several Pokemon of all shapes and sizes, none of which looked remotely like any of Luca or Sylva's "Where am I?" She thought aloud. Getting up onto her feet, she noticed several other Pokemon beginning to stir along with her. She recalled for a moment having heard a noise or perhaps it was a voice? Was that the fear she'd tasted earlier? Shaking her body out the large dragon-like Pokemon took a few steps forward only to stop and stretch out her body like cat or dog might do. She couldn't sense Sylva, which was troublesome... She'd have to find a plentiful source of darkness soon or surely she'd starve.

The Chengshen

Shade blinked sky blue eyes open slowly, and stood without effort, or conscious, as if weightless. The chengshen pokemon looked around, light wafting from the runes on its body, eyes faintly illuminating the purple mist pressing up to Shade's face. With a light shake of their head, Shade moved back, before turning to look around with interest. This place gave off a very odd feel... It definitely didn't seem to be on the same level as where they'd last been. Not that that had been all too pleasant, either, though Shade had a feeling they felt better about that whole battle than Cherish had. On that note, though... where was Cherish? Where was Trevor? Or JR? Or even the grumpy wigglytuff? Shade looked around, but it became very apparent, very fast, that they were nowhere. They couldn't sense them. There were others, though, and it might be wise to engage them, and work together to determine the situation, and solution. Shade wasn't exactly the direct sort, however.

Moving carefully through the mist, the chengshen stopped, lifting its head and looking forward, a few figures just visible; some feline creature (that reminded them of Cherish a bit, but much, much tougher looking) and a sort of... winged pokemon. Hm. Sitting down, Shade kept a small distance, simply observing, for the time being.

Even before the Munna had come frantically rushing down a revealed path Radium had stirred from her slumber. With a jump a bit of sparks flickered off her cheeks. The tiny mouse was quick to rise from the earth, looking every which way with concern in her eyes. When she realized she wasn't where she'd last been launched into enemy sight a small bit of panic set in. "W-where am I?" She inquired, looking around to find several other Pokemon appearing all around her. Where was Eline? Had she been captured by a poachers or something? Was that who those men were? A few more sparks began to crack at her cheeks to which Radium reached her paws up and pushed down on them. Pichu were known rather well for having a lack of controlling their electricity... radium was no different when she was scared. Eline would of likely denied Radium acting in such a way as she was now, but the sparky Pichu was really only brave in the face of a foe she could see.... there were no foes here. Or where there?

It was then the Munna arrived, speaking in a panic. So she was in a dream? This was... a nightmare? A dream she couldn't wake from unless she stopped this terrible Darkrai sounded like a challenge she would normally be eager for... but again she could not see this foe, but perhaps this was just what she needed to get braver?

Rafflesia, unlike some of the other pokemon here, continued to snooze soundly through most of the racket. She was curled up on something cold and smooth feeling, a change from the inside of her pokeball but it was largely unnoticed as she continued to snore softly. It wasn't until the Spiriake she was sleeping on got up and arched her back that the ivysaur took notice. Though, this was largely due to the fact that she suddenly started sliding down between the Spirake's spines like a plinko ball until she abruptly stopped, her face smushed up against one of the spines until the spirake righted herself again. "Hold still, won't you? M'tryin to sleep here." She grumbled, but seemed to make little effort in attempting to right herself again. Having her face pressed up against a spine wasn't too bad she supposed. Rafflesia had certainly slept in far more awkward positions than this, and already she felt her eyelids drooping.

However, curiosity got the better of her, since during her rude awakening, she grew conscious enough of the fact that she wasn't in Kanto anymore, nor was this pokemon her usual scolipede ride. With a wide yawn and a grunt of reluctance, Rafflesia sat up. "Say... Where are we anyway? The name's Rafflesia. Mind if I keep riding your back? I'm not really much of a walker." She sniffed. "That's more of an informal request, by the way, since regardless of your answer I think I'm gonna stay here." She added with another yawn, smacking her lips as she took another cursory look around.

☆ ☆【 Fianna felt herself drifting, lost in a seemingly neverending sea of darkness with no clear direction of where to go. Was this a dream? She knew for a fact that she was still alive… or else she wouldn’t be capable of thinking consciously, right? A sudden cry for help cut through the blackness around her, jolting her into wakefulness as her eyes shot open. Huh…? What… what was this? The Braixen glanced around, finding herself suddenly thrust into some sort of strange world of mist and what looked like… trees? Was she in a forest of some kind? Shaking herself into consciousness, she clambered to her feet, noting how many other Pokemon who seemed to be in the same situation as her doing the same as well. A panicked voice sounded from close by, drawing the attention of all in the little clearing to it. The source of the voice, a tiny pink and purple elephant-like Pokemon she recognized as a Munna, pleaded with them to help, going on to say that Darkrai had taken over the dream world and was trying to turn all dreams into nightmares. How peculiar… She felt like she should know that name, Darkrai… And yet, nothing of particular note was coming to her… And to add on top of everything, it seemed Phoenix was nowhere to be seen…

Fianna’s brow furrowed in contemplation, this was quite the troublesome predicament she had ended up in, and yet from the looks of it the only way to go from here was through the path ahead where the fog had already started to lift. So the key to leave this strange place was to help the dream world with its dilemma by defeating Darkrai was what she could extrapolate from the Munna’s explanation, and anything she came across while traversing this world was hers to keep… Well, she supposed the least she could do was take the situation with a grain of salt as she brushed off her furry skirt and began making her way towards the path. The mist was thick and difficult to see through, so she whipped out the stick that she kept within her tail fur, a spark catching and lighting the tip of it ablaze with the motion. Holding it out in front of her like a torch, the bright orange flames seemed to chase the fog away little by little as she walked along the path. Just up ahead, however, she heard what sounded like a cry of pain, and immediately quickened her pace towards the source. A tiny, meek sounding female voice spoke up, apologizing to someone else and asking them if they had seen her parents. The fog lifted as she got closer, revealing the forms of a little Noibat, a strange red and black furred cat Pokemon she didn’t recognize, and another Pokemon she didn’t recognize the species of, another cat-like Pokemon with silvery fur and a wispy tail. Her focus settled primarily on the tiny little bat dragon, who was sniffling and looked about ready to cry. Poor dear… she must be frightened being here in this strange place without her trainer… Or was it trainers? The Noibat had mentioned that she was trying to find her ‘momma’ and ‘papa’… Regardless, Fianna moved to step in, as it seemed the strange wispy silver cat Pokemon was keeping its distance from the pair for now. ”Hello there, little one,” she greeted the little Noibat with a warm smile, keeping a reasonable distance since it seemed the little dragon was quite frightened, ”Are you lost?” She glanced around, knowing that looking for the little bat’s ‘parents’ was futile as it appeared there were no trainers present here but wanting to keep her from potentially panicking further. ”I’m afraid I haven’t seen your mom or pop, but perhaps they might be somewhere around here,” she tried to reassure, keeping her voice soft and calm as to not scare her, ”If you'd like, I can help you look for them~” She felt that perhaps outright telling the little bat that her parents weren’t here wasn’t the best idea, the poor little thing already seemed upset enough as it were. The Braixen’s eyes flitted over towards the Torracat, studying the odd Pokemon for a moment or two as if determining if it was friendly or not. ”Is this little one with you, by chance?” she inquired, wondering if perhaps the pair of them were a group together.

As far as Daphnes was aware, he'd been deep asleep in his pokeball, dreaming about one day evolving into a mighty Salamence capable of flying all around the world. But after this dream had taken a turn for the worse and he was awoken he found himself in another dream, very much nothing like his pleasant one. The red scaled Bagon rose to his feet, looking around the thick with fog area with a heavy scowl. His gaze fell upon a frantic Munna who began to plea her case to those who were awake enough to listen. This was a dream he would not be allowed to leave until some Darkrai was defeated? Well, the Bagon was down. He could use the training, after all his trainer seemed pretty keen on goofing off for some contest or whatever frilly nonsense she'd taken part in. Perhaps if he came back stronger he could get his trainer back onto the task she'd originally signed him up to help her with?

☆ ☆【 With a sudden violent jolt, Piper practically leapt to her feet upon hearing the cry for help that had suddenly pierced through her sleep. Shaking her head, the Noivern blinked as she glanced around, ears twitching to and fro as she tried to make sense of these strange new surroundings. How had she ended up here? She vaguely recalled arriving at the Pokemon Center in Royal Avenue to spend the night, eating dinner, and being returned to her Pokeball to sleep… More importantly, however, where was Zoey? Upon this realization dawning on her, panic began setting in as she whipped her head to and fro in frantic search of her new trainer. To her dismay, from the looks of it the only other beings that could be seen anywhere around here were other Pokemon. Which, under normal circumstances wouldn’t be quite as alarming if it weren’t for the fact that Zoey was nowhere to be seen. Piper hardly heard even a word of the Munna’s speech in the midst of her trying not to spiral out of control as anxiety gripped her. Her fiddling claws found their way up to her mane, instinctively digging into the shaggy, uneven fur in preparation to start ripping pieces out. Anything to keep herself from lapsing into a complete meltdown over the sheer strangeness of the situation and the absence of her trainer.

Okay… okay… deep breaths now… Try to get ahold of yourself, Piper… In spite of how daunting this scenario seemed, there was still hope yet as the Munna said that the only way out was to progress forward. Was this a maze of some sort? In that case… all she had to do was find her way to the end of the maze and she’d be back with Zoey and her teammates, right? Taking deep, shuddering breaths, her wings shook as she lifted her claws away from her mane in favor of holding them close to her chest in a nervous prayer-like position. She could see the fog starting to lift away already, revealing a path leading between the gnarly trees that seemed to go further into the strange land. Maybe she ought to go that way? Huddling close on herself, Piper steadily made her way forward, bright eyes trained on the path ahead and her ears perked to take in the noises of her surroundings. She didn’t notice the Pichu in her path until her foot came down only inches away from the little Electric-type’s tail, narrowly missing stepping on the little mouse by mistake. ”O-Oh…!” she chirped in surprise, startled as she quickly recoiled and jumped a bit of a ways back and away from the Pichu, ”Oh… I-I’m so s-sorry! I d-didn’t see you th-there!” Pulling her wings in closer to herself as if trying to shield herself from any incoming blows, she glanced down towards the tiny electric mouse she had barely avoided accidentally squishing. ”Ah… I’m s-sorry, I really didn’t m-mean to! I… I didn’t h-hurt you, d-did I?” she asked, hoping that the Pichu hadn’t been hurt even though she had only just avoided a potentially bad situation. And hopefully it wasn’t too offended at her for what she’d almost done…

Dotty was still quite skeptical of this Dream World nonsense. It didn't seem very logical that a bunch of pokemon's dreams had somehow been interconnected and now they were all under the control of this darkrai character. Highly suspect, but given that she saw no way out other than through the lifting fog, she supposed she could play along and study her surroundings. If what the munna said was to be believed, then she would need to partner up with some pokemon before traversing into the metaphorical belly of the beast.

Dotty adjusted her glasses and glanced around. Given her... Speech impediment, she kept an eye out for electric and psychic types who might know binary code. The first pokemon to fit that description was a pichu, who seemed a little nervous. She could sympathize, it was really quite worrisome, this predicament they were in. Currently, the pichu seemed engaged with a large noivern, a formidable foe and strong ally. Not a bad start, if she could successfully make contact, that was. She floated cautiously over to the pichu and attempted to communicate.

01001001 01110100 00100000 01110111 01101111 01110101 01101100 01100100 00100000 01100010 01100101 00100000 01100001 01100100 01110110 01100001 01101110 01110100 01100001 01100111 01100101 01101111 01110101 01110011 00100000 01110100 01101111 00100000 01110100 01100101 01100001 01101101 00100000 01110101 01110000

The numbers floated in rapid succession above her head in her red aura, but based on the blank stare she was getting, it seemed the pichu, in fact, did not know binary. Trying not to look too disappointed, Dotty tried symbols instead, hand gestures pointing to the pichu, the noivern, and then herself, respectively, followed by a question mark.

Still nothing.

Dotty squeezed her eyes shut and wiggled her arm nubs frantically in frustration, throwing a silent tantrum, although she wasn't angry with the two. It was just really frustrating not to be understood. "Oh, for cripes sake! I just want to team up! Why does this have to be so difficult?" She bemoaned. Little did she know her thoughts were being broadcasted to the other two pokemon.

☆ ☆【 Mogwai groaned and rubbed at his eyes as he woke up, vision still somewhat hazy as he moved to get to his feet. He’d been having such a nice dream too… What it had been about exactly, he couldn’t entirely remember. But what he did remember were the clear, sunny skies above his dreamscape suddenly darkening with thick purple clouds, followed by a sudden call for help that seemed to come from everywhere and nowhere before he found himself here. But… where was here, exactly? He found himself suddenly situated in a fogbound clearing, surrounded by strange twisted trees and several other Pokemon who were also waking up and trying to assess the odd situation they had found themselves in. What was going on? How did he end up here? Where was Aiden? With a bewildered groan, Mogwai turned his attention towards the strange little pink Pokemon that was now spouting information at them, trying to process the absurdity of the situation before him. What was all of this about Darkrai and nightmares and saving the dream world? Was that how he was supposed to find his way out of this place?

Judging from the way the fog lifted to reveal a path leading deeper into the strange forested area, that was probably the way to go, right? ”Aaaaiiiideeeeen?” Mogwai called out in his drawling, bellowing voice as he padded forward, craning his head back and forth to see if perhaps his trainer was somewhere nearby, ”Wheeeere Aaaaiiiideeeeen?” Surely the boy had to be somewhere in this strange dream-like place, right? If the Bewear himself was here then Aiden probably was too, right? His pointed ears flicked and swiveled about, listening for what he hoped would be the familiar call of his owner’s voice as he began pushing his way through the mists to reveal more of the path. Where exactly was this place leading to...?

Luna had been comfortably resting in her ball after breakfast. Her trainer had battle stuff to do, so the little eevee had been more than content to just doze until lunch. That's why it was so startling when she opened her eyes and saw herself alone in a strange, misty forest. "H... Hello...?" she questioned as she got to her feet. Oh, not alone. She was just too short to notice the others at first. It seemed there were a lot of other pokemon stirring from naps. No humans, though.

As the young eevee looked around, trying to find anyone that looked familiar, she noticed a pink and purple pokemon, about the same size as her, bouncing more or less her way. It was pleading with the various pokemon in the area to save the dreamworld from something called a darkrai. The young eevee wasn't sure what that was, but it was apparently something powerful enough to turn a land of dreams into a world of nightmares. Luna shivered and shrank away from the munna. "But... But I'm no good at fighting..." the eevee tried to protest, but the munna just moved on to enlisting the next pokemon that it noticed wake up.

Left alone once again, Luna continued to shiver as she looked around. There were several pokemon, and many of them were starting to make their way down the path. The little eevee had to do something fast, or else she would really be alone. She wasn't keen on the idea of being lost and alone in some dreamland on the verge of becoming a nightmare. She had to pick a group, so she cautiously padded towards a pair that looked like they might be pretty strong. One of them was an ivysaur, and the pokemon it was riding... Well, Luna had no idea what that big purple lizard pokemon was, but with how huge it was, it had to be strong!

"E-excuse me!" the small voice called up to the spiriake and ivysaur. "W-would it be a-alright if I joined you...?" Luna's eyes were large and teary as she looked up at the two larger pokemon. "I... I can help you two fight better, so please?" Well, that really was about the only thing she was good for. And begging for treats but... Well, that wasn't something to brag about right now, was it?

Ammy opened her eyes after hearing a voice calling for help. When did she get here? The last she knew, she was in a pokeball, safe inside Rose's bag. The lupup sniffed the air, looking around. This was certainly not any place she had been before; the trees were twisted and the air felt light. And no sign of her trainer- or any human for that matter. Ammy tilted her head, looking over at the other pokemon that appeared to be around her. While she certainly wasn't against making friends, she couldn't help but wander off ahead on her own. "I wonder if I can find a snack here..." she thought, trotting along lightly.

A groaning growl was loosed from the houndoom's muzzle as consciousness finally returned to him. His whole body ached and his head felt fuzzy. "Uggghhh... What truck did I run out in front of...?" Daemon grumbled as he struggled to his feet. His thoughts were a bit scrambled, but one that filtered its way to the top made the dark type freeze. "...Oh... Well ********> The houndoom recalled a canon leveled at him and an orb of energy crashing into him. Right. That... Had gone pretty horrible. The dark type had half a mind to roast his trainer for putting him through that. Just one problem... Felix wasn't here.

It was scent that first alerted Daemon to something being completely wrong. The earth, grass, trees... They all smelled 'exaggerated' to the houndoom. Like they were trying to make their scents obvious to those that barely notice them in the first place. The air also smelled different than it should, a faint sweetness present. It was probably meant to be pleasant, and it probably was to pokemon with a weaker sense of smell. But to the canine, it was just a reminder that this place was not somewhere he should be. Then there were the smells of those around him, both what was present and what was missing. He couldn't smell his trainer's scent, or any other human's for that matter, and though he could smell many strange pokemon around him, none of them were the ones he could call 'ally'. He could write off not noticing the skarmory or porygon, but there's no way in hell he could ignore the scent of a muk. He had tried.

When a munna floated about begging the various pokemon around to help save this strange dream world they had been brought to, Daemon... Couldn't bring himself to care. Indeed, he more wanted to chew on the munna itself for dragging him here away from his trainer. Sure, he was a bit pissed at the human for accepting such a dangerous heist, but Felix was his trainer, and a half-decent one at that. He just... Kept getting mixed up with dangerous people. But, although the houndoom himself didn't care, he supposed that if he wanted to get back to Felix he would have to go along with this munna's request. In that sense, the sooner he made it to this darkrai the munna spoke of, the sooner he could check up on his trainer. After a few stretches to pop his aching joints and rid himself of some of his stiffness, the houndoom rushed on ahead, leaving most of the pokemon behind.

He couldn't keep up the pace long, though, and soon enough Daemon's aching body made him slow down. Revives and Potions might be enough to mend wounds, but they did little for pain. Assuming he had actually been healed at some point. As he continued along at a much slower pace, Daemon couldn't help but notice some sort of small pup pokemon wandering down the path by itself. The houndoom looked around for a bit to see if there wasn't someone actually nearby, but nope, it was pretty much just him and the oddly-marked white puppy right now. He needed to hurry, but... It can't hurt to just keep an eye on them. Daemon kept a respectable distance between himself and the smaller canine, but did follow along to make sure it didn't end up in a fight it couldn't handle.
