Zephyr's breath slowed as he focused on sensing how close the animals were.
Wolves.
A pack of wolves.
Normally, he wouldn't be afraid.
After all, he could just gobble gobble, swallow swallow, and gulp goes the creatures.
But, with Cerin...
"Alright, young man. Since this old man has many years of experience more than you, listen closely to his foolproof plan."
He shifted into an offensive stance, his hand reaching to his side as if he was about to draw his sword.
"On the count of three...One...two...three..."
Without a single warning, he picked Cerin up, swinging him over his shoulders like a sack of potatoes.
"RUN!"
He began running as fast as he could, the wolves barking and growling behind them as the grand chase began.

⌠Cerin ready himself about to draw his sword at the stranger's command, but was instead tossed over his shoulder. "WHAT are you doing!?" He demanded thrown over the others shoulder. "It's not like I can run if you're carrying me!" The more he struggled the tighter the weird person's grip became. The path was heading uphill, and the wolves were nipping at their feet. The person was obviously not human as they were able to keep pace and stay ahead of the wolves. Soon they arrived above ground, but it was a dead end once more backed against another cliff. "What's your genius plan now, old man?" He asked a little frightened.⌡

Zephyr smiled.
"It can't be helped."
Setting Cerin down, he drew his sword.
"Shall we dance?"
His eyes shine with a strange pale blue light as he dashed forward, right into the pack of wolves.
Zephyr moved like a seasoned warrior; elegant and valiant.
Every slash of the sword hit its target.
He fought like a true man, and his damage was...

Zero.
"............."
"............."
The wolves looked at him with bored, pitying expressions.

"Well," Zephyr said, clearing his throat, "it seems like sudden exercise is not fit for an old man like me-"

Before he could finish speaking, one wolf charged forward, head butting his sword out of his hands.

"Ah."
They all watched as the sword flew over the cliff, down the waterfall and landing at the bottom with a splash.
"There goes my family relic, haha~" He said casually, giving them all a sheepish grin.

He back tracked to where Cerin was standing, keeping an eye on the wolves as they closed in.
"Alright, partner. Do you trust me?"

⌠Now finally on his own two feet, Cerin was about to draw his own sword when the insane person froze his boots to the ground preventing him from moving. "I can't dance with frozen feet!" He retorted arms crossed trying to figure out what he should do. They wolves seemed crazed with hungry for, Somus, the sleeping bell to have an effect. He watched curiously over what the man could possibly do with the ornamental sword he drew. At first, he was amazed the person gracefulness, bu that soon changed as the movements were useless in hurting the wolves. He snickered at the man befuddlement over the little damage he had done to the predators.

The man walked calmly over to Cerin and held out a hand asking a stupid question. "No." He replied bluntly and slapped the man's hand away. "Why would I trust a man that tried to drown me not too long ago." He watched the wolves approach. Their growls were menacing and low. Sighing exasperatedly, he decided nothing worse was dying by feral animals leaving him only one option. "I have no choice in this situation. Not because I want to, remember, but I need to trust to survive this." He looked over his shoulder at the spot where the sword had fallen in. "It better not have anything to do with that." He nodded his head towards the waterfall and river. "I've had enough of water and cliffs for today." ⌡

Zephyr sighed when Cerin answered without hesitation.
"Of course, of course." He said, nodding to Cerin's next words without paying attention.
When Cerin mentioned something about the cliffs though, his eyes brightened.
"Woah, I didn't know you were a mind reader!" Zephyr said cheerfully, smiling at Cerin, "Because that is exactly what I'm planning~"
Giving the wolves a salute, he picked up his partner, leaping right off the cliff down the might waterfall.
"Hang on tight, Rin Rin! Because it looks like it is going to be a long way down!"

⌠"I'm not... NO! DON'T JUMP!" He shouted at the top of his longs as the person swiftly picked him up and skipped off the edge. A jolt of shock went through his body as the person called out his terrible nickname. "Why do you know my naaaame?" The question was elongated as it shifted into a yell falling through the air and into the water. He closed his eyes and mouth in time and freed himself to begin swimming towards the surface. Breaking the surface he looked back to see the cliff was already far away with the river's strong current guiding him. "Old man are you still alive?" Not that he was concerned, but so far they had survived well together. Maybe he wasn't all that bad.⌡

⌠"Old man!" He swam over and flipped the body over looking for the rise and fall of his chest. Not noticing anything he slipped his arms around the other's shoulders and started to float on their backs, kicking strongly with the current towards the shore. Once on land Cerin dragged the body ashore feeling for a pulse along his neck. He's still beating strongly so what could be wrong? He poked the body in the side confused as to what was happening. He's not dead, and he's breathing fine now...I don't understand. He titled his head perplexed. Slapping the side of the man's face, he shouted next to his ear. "Old man! Wake up!."⌡

Zephyr opened his eyes.
"That was just a bit too loud of a wake up call, haha~" he said, as he turned his amused gaze on to Cerin, "You must be my Prince Charming then, I suppose?" Before Cerin could answer with his usual angry retorts, Zephyr got up, heading over to the edge of the water.
"Retrieve." He chanted simply, as the sword that fell into the river earlier rose into the air, returning to its owner's side.
"Now, don't get mad. I just wanted to play dead for once. It seems to be a popular game with younger children, so I thought I would try it out."
He returned the sword to its sheath by his side, giving Cerin a big smile.
"Looks like the plan worked though! I'm glad, haha~"

⌠ He snorted unamused with the strangers tricks and games. Standing up he glanced around noticing the river had led them to an embankment and in the distance, smoke and building could be seen. "So tell me, how do you know my nickname? Don't say your psychic or can read minds cause I highly doubt that." He unsheathed hi sword checking to make sure the specially enhanced waterproof sheath was working and that the blade wasn't rusting. "And what's so amusing about playing dead?" He eyes grew distant remembering the many times he had touched death, "It's a cold place."⌡

Zephyr smiled.
"Cold, not cold. Silent, not silent. Empty? Yes...incredibly empty. A vacant eternity. One that will make you lose your mind."
And perhaps I already have.
He took a moment to remember the time he spent down in the void after death.
The sword beside him hummed quietly.
Yes, yes. I understand, Erebus. We have a goal to complete here, don't we?

Turning to Cerin, he laughed a little as he spoke.
"How did I know your name? Well..."
He paused.
Lifting his hands up into the air, he posed.
"Rawr."
He laughed in delight, not stopping to explain to Cerin what he meant by his actions, knowing that he will eventually figure it out.

⌠Can I just kill this guy already?The lunatic was never going to give him a straight answer, was he? "This is where we part ways. You go back to your mushrooms and holes in the ground. I already have a barely sane partner somewhere, and I don't want another." The two crazies were too similar, and time with two would cause Cerin to go absolutely mad. "Goodbye then, old man. Hope we never cross paths again." Turning he started marching up the hill towards the distant civilization. "The next person I meet better be sane." ⌡

"Cut it out, human."
A low growl sounded from Zephyr, as he froze for a moment, and then sighed.
Now, now, Ere Ere...give him some time to-
"Shut up, idiot. He's insulting you. You need to discipline your kid, that's how he will learn to behave!"
Zephyr sighed again, holding up his hands in defeat, letting Erebus continue.
"Oi, human. Yes, you, the stupid looking one over there."
I don't think provoking him will work-
"Silence, fool. A God like me knows what he's doing."
To the ordinary viewer, this would appear to be Zephyr talking to himself or no one in particular.
"Listen up, human! Even though he is a stupid idiotic good-for-nothing useless freeloader, he is still the drag- kek- on- kof- King...WHY ARE YOU INTERRUPTING ME, YOU LITTLE s**t!!!"
While Erebus was speaking, Zephyr began coughing, trying to blur out his words.

⌠Cerin stopped at first to listen to the person speak. Once their personality completely changed , and they started talking to themselves, He was surprised surviving the encounter with them.He spoke in a low soothing tone, holding his hands out in a calming manner, "Sorry for insulting you. All just be going then." He ran uphill not stopping once and to the town. Thankful to have lived through that ordeal.⌡
