That's why it's always good to ask. I had no idea it was called Judaism! Let alone the fact that it was such an ancient religion. I thought the Hebrews from the "Exodus" didn't have a religion till after the exodus itself and I had no idea what it was called.
I suppose any religion is fine to be used in a fantasy setting, huh? However, if one is to create his or her own, how to go about it? That might be the real question. 3nodding

Religan was very mixed into fantasy back in the day. Back then they invented stories to explain things in the nature world. Theses stories coved the elements, weather, water, food, night, day, lighting and certain sounds.

Thoses stories live for throusands of years. quite amazing. but now we know how the world works. science can tell us everything. so religan is no longer in the element of fantasy.

The only religan aacepts that are still in fantasy is paganism (someone menten that before, but i agree with them) and the cults (thought not many cults belive in that sort of thing any more can i add? mostly they dont like certain people and THAT doesnt fall in religan).

So really there is no religan that still exist in fantasy any more.

Can i just point out that i really really hate the fact that science is trying to UNDERSTAND and TRANSLATE every single thing from religans. Destorying the hopes and belives of other people. I personally cant stand it. to me, some things are best left in mistery

Agreed! I think some things are better left in mystery also but some stories wouldn't be interesting if they didn't have some religion in them. What do I mean by this? Well, some stories (like Dragon Quest 5 for example) have a religious order offer people salvation if they join them and they might not be as interesting if they didn't have that element in them. Right now I don't know if the main character has to fight anyone within that religious order but it would be pretty cool if he did cuz the order is not who they claim to be or something. 3nodding You know?

no sorry i dont. i have never played that game or heard of it so i most like not to understand sorry.

Now that sciece have "worked out " how the world works they now have nothing to work on so they are trying to crack peoples minds. not only taking away the idea of god but all the people who want to belive in something like a place where everyone goes after they die. BAM now thats not possible. i saw a documentry the other day and science poeple were trying work out and understand heaven and hell. i didnt watch it all but they wont doing a very good job - thank goodness

NP!

He-he, that sounds weird. But yeah, people are always trying to figure out things, even those things that seem like they may have no explanation but that's just part of what makes us humans, I think. 3nodding

Might I like to say that science does take away aspects of religion, but you don't necessarily have to believe what science has to say? They haven't figured out everything about the world, since it seems some other scientists and theories have something to say about that. Science keeps arguing with itself, as I keep arguing with myself on what religion I want to become.

But, my religious confusion and scientific documentary watching aside, I'm going to get to why I fished up this topic... why... Oh!
I came up with my own religion (still working out the problems and holes) for the elves. They came up with their own political system based purely on religion. Their government and religion are so intertwined that they are sometimes pictured as the same thing. Each tribe (I mentioned these somewhere) Solaris, Darkari, Alquen, Esytheusne, Siereia, Fyorei, Phyoren, and Aurorin, (although as of recently in the story, the Alquen and Aurorin tribes have merged due to the daughter of both leaders who took power) has a figure relating to it, a godlike figure, the creator of the tribe and the first person to master the type of magic that each tribe relates to. Every young elf chooses their tribe, although they usually choose their parent's tribe, and they learn the type of magic associated with the one they choose.
However, there are two types of magic (or elements, if you will) that are not associated with a tribe and are forbidden to learn or develop. These are Rock (or stone) and Wind (or air). These are forbidden because they are considered the lifeblood of the elves. They believe that in the beginning, the original creatures were made simply of stone, in statue form, and suddenly, although there was no light or darkness, water or fire, plants or ice, the wind blew and the creatures began to breathe. Among these were the first of every species. Then the godlike creators of the tribes were given life, last, and each brought the element that their tribe is known for to the world. Then they gathered the first elves and created the tribes. They believe that by learning to control the air or the stone, they bring the wrath of the great wind and the great rock (as they call the original wind and stone).

It's a little lengthy, but that is the basic beliefs of the elves. What do you think?
