Which is why I went to Gaia to ask for help, because everyone here is attracted to Japanese culture in someway, don't deny it because me and you both know it, even if I don't know you. Anyways, I need some japanese shows to watch, as I'm debating between studying abroad in Australia or Japan for college. Dunno yet, the outback seems like fun and calling people wankers too. But so does Japan, and it also feels like I'd learn more. So I want to study more before I make a $7,000+ decision. So I'm looking for some japanese shows to watch. It doesn't necessarily have to be anime, although anime will be fine and I'll watch it if it's relevant to my interests. Lately I've been hooked on Takeshi's Castle (YAY old classics). It's much lulz to me. But anyways, go ahead and post suggestions. I'll reply eventually razz

Although kangaroos and wallabies are adorable, I'm going to have to say Japan for a few reasons:

And the best part?
Tokyo. Never. Sleeps.

All around it's just an absolutely stunning culture. I would envy you for the rest of my life if you got to drive a mini car through Japan before I did.

That is a sweet ride surprised I'd love to study in Tokyo, but that might be hard to arrange, as for the college I'm looking at right now, their study abroad program sends you to a college in Osaka. Hmmm. I'm still considering it a lot though. Would you happen to know any good websites that describe more about Japan life / culture or just shows or anything? :3

Traditional, or Modern?

I'm gonna say modern, because that would be more helpful, although feel free to provide any sites with traditional info too. Also, do you happen to know why Alu over thar is attacking me for wanting to study in Osaka? surprised

Japan.
Mostly because I saw a video of a guy who got his manly thing ripped/kicked/destroyed by a kangaroo.

I agree, stay away from the rabid mammals.

Quote:
"The ratio between daytime and night time population is 141%, the highest in Japan, highlighting its status as an economic center.[2] Its nighttime population is 2.6 million, the third in the country, but in daytime the population surges to 3.7 million, second only after Tokyo.[3] Osaka has traditionally been referred to as the "nation's kitchen" (天下の台所, tenka no daidokoro?), or the Mecca of gourmet food.[4][5][6][7]"

DONT LISTEN! IM TEMPTED TO LOCK THIS AND KEEP THIER
PURSUASIVE VIEWS AWAY FROM YOU!
DONT LEAVE ME MY LOVE! NEVER!
HOW COULD YOU DO SUCH A THING?!

<<; Must be the wiiind.. ;D
anywho. wont you miss the people you leave here? :/
sure you can write to all your friends and family, and girlfriend, but i had a japanese pen pal once. it took forever to get thier letters and to send one back. like months. and emails just arent as nice as letters. phone calls are ultimate goodness but that would empty your wallet after ten minutes. plus you wouldnt have any personal contact whatsoever with those back home. it would be pretty hard to keep relationships with them from becoming dead while your gone.

Go for Ghibli! <33 Try Howl's Moving Castle first (if you haven't seen it already)?
Anyway, interesting is that I was also debating between Australia (not exactly, more like New Zealand) and Japan, but I made up my mind quite fast.
Why not study at either of them and then move to the other country? Share the love. ;D

@Alu: lrn2skype or voice chat, it's similar to calls, just done via the net. Hmm. Good point though >.<

@Akira: That could work surprised I'm sort of interested in Australia, but I don't know as much about it. Hmmm. Seems like it would be an adventure though. So does completely exploring a new culture and being out on your own too, though.
