Dan Savage is witty, funny, usually full of common sense sex advice. I love his books, podcast, column.

He's problematic -- some of his wit comes by being transphobic, fatphobic, bi-phobic. He is certainly trying to do good in the world and is probably a lovely person. I think he even cares for trans, fat and bi peoples -- his sense of humor however, betrays that.

I'm sort of the opinion that I'll let others address him personally, I'll work in other ways to deal with the culture, and I'll deal with it that way. I haven't found a sex advice columnist that isn't yet.

And if you haven't read Skipping Toward Gomorrah, do so. It's a romp.

I'll check that out.

I am totally giving up on medieval european garb, seriously. Historically accurate Turkish all the way. I'm working my way through getting the layers made. I've the supportive layer, chirka, made. Next I'm making the pants and gomlek.

All of my group are making inlays into garb appropriate to their character backstory, yay!

And we decided to run the next event. Uh, yay.

Spent the weekend at my parents. Every time I go vist I'm reminded of why I moved away. Though I think someone is beginning to realize that I don't like being there and is trying to purchase my visits instead of trying to fix the reasons I left in the first place. I love them, but sometimes it's best to love from a distance.
It's also getting harder and harder to bite my tongue during family get togethers. I swear one more snide sideways comment about me not going to church and I may have to break my mothers heart. Don't ask don't tell only goes so far.
