I would kill for some good tempranillo. With a really good pasta dish, or a rustic homemade pizza with lots of cheese, tomato, and pršut.

There are a couple I like.
You can't find Red Dragon anywhere except online anymore, but Opera Prima is nice.

My aunt got me Opera Prima for Christmas last year. rofl

Nuri - what kind of cookies did you make?

Just a basic chocolate chip. Its what I had on hand. Tomorrow, I'm doing some batch cooking: baked pasta and fried rice, for easy eatings for the household.

Someone else can do the dishes. There are 5 people that live in this house.

I'm such a sucker for chocolate chip cookies. I must have baked seven batches last December and January. Baked pasta too, my mama used to make it with a lot of cheese.

And fried rice is so damn easy. a little bit of prep time is the hardest part. The actual cooking of it takes about 10 minutes. And I can make a big batch that'll feed ....well, the 5 people in the house!

(my house is called either the commune or the fortress. Can you guess which one I call it?)

Mmm, spent too much money this weekend, but it was good. It was needed.
I feel now like I've celebrated.
Now comes the time for saving up.

Science can answer moral questions now, apparently.

Do you think it can't?

Today I have cooked:
1. Honey Beer Bread
2. Banana Bread
3. Giant batch of fried rice (chicken and pork, onions, peas and carrots)
4. One large baked pasta

I am hoping that will be most of the cooking this week.

I never really thought that was the point of science, but then, I haven't devoted 25 minutes to the video yet.

1. Sounds yummy.
2. Another of my favorites.
3. Yummy.
4. MMMMMMM.

Everyone in the Fortress is going to love you this week, I'm sure. BTW, I'm totally guessing it's the Fortress, though commune is a good choice as well. 3nodding

Not sure yet. It would probably depend on what type of science, but I was under the impression that verifying facts does not necessarily go hand in hand with prescriptive behavior. I didn't watch all of it yet but he equivocates values with morality and values with fact.

I'm going to have to devote some time to it while putting aside some of my preconceived notions. I've had some atheist friends who are just as zealous about the wonders of science and the error and idiocy of religious people that they sound just like the people they claim to be more enlightened than.

Does anyone still have contact with Tea? I mean to ask her about ethnographies about the Rroma and which she deems good sources. Just a general overview of their cultural history would be fine.

The reason I'm asking is that I'm taking a slightly upper level anthropology course this semester and this is our end of term paper assignment. Thus far, I have this website to start with. Thanks, and hope I'm not a bother. smile

I am, I'm sure I can ask her for a good overview, but some good starts are:
http://reocities.com/Paris/5121/
and the book Bury Me Standing

Although, I'm not sure if they are ethnographies.

Dear good people of PFRC;
I am considering opening a new topic to contain the chat thread. I feel a little guilty about wanting to change topic sentences in my good friends topic. This topic would be simply closed, so that it could always be referenced.

If anyone has a problem with this, please let me know either here or through PM, and we can discuss it.

Thank you much smile
