Hey all! Started "A" school so I'm that much closer to being an FC (Fire Controlman). I'm getting kind of excited now, if only because there seems to actually be some light at the end of the tunnel, XP
I still have perhaps 2 or 3 months in "A" school, then another bout of holds, my phase 2 electronics and then I will be a rated FC. And only a few months after that, if that, I should be ranked, and I will be FC3!

AniMajor Illiezeulette I am struggling to come up with things to say in Japanese for a two-minute speech. *shakes fist* According to anime, there's about three Japanese words: "honto?", "doki doki", and "kawaii!" Does that help? don't forget: daijoubu? (i'm/are you okay), nanji desu ka? (what time is it?), doushite? (why?), and aishiteru (i love you). oh! and the constant repeating of your SO's name through the entire thing! biggrin

I wound up explaining the problems with living off campus and having a full on-campus meal plan. I generally buy expensive food now...yum. Before it was just beans and rice and salads and bananas...but now I have fancy grilled vegetable wraps (:

The local center of performing arts found my demographic and hit it: Geeky, a capella loving NPR listener.
This years Canadian band is Mauvais Sort. I haven't heard of them though, but they are described as folk n roll...

Hello all. Haven't been around much. Am currently clambering my way out of a very very deep depression. Hit rock bottom last week, am starting the climb up the well walls now. Soon I shall see daylight.
I don't know if I'm back, back. But I may start posting in the near future.

Byaggha maenad nuri This years Canadian band is Mauvais Sort. I haven't heard of them though, but they are described as folk n roll... Bad Fate? Maybe Curse would be better..hm. Neat name though. Quebecois? Yep. They are hosted through "Arts Midwest" which brings bands and productions from around the world to a few venues in the ...well, Midwest. I went to the last one, which was the Israeli Ethnic Ensemble, which was spectacular. There's also an all-woman Chinese group, a Japanese instrumentalist....and this Quebecois band. One of these things is not like the other. (my husband is not impressed with the idea of Star Trek Live. I am bouncing for it and Ira Glass)

Hope things turn out well CuAnnan.
As for myself, I believe I am under the same issue. The last few years seem to finally be catching up to me. It's been a time of reflection, and I must continue to do a few things before I can actively post again, not that I was much of one to begin with. Some mental barriers have apparently been built, and need to be torn down, hopefully in a rather pleasant way. Anyway, I'll be back when I can.

Yay! Moving time!
I move quite often, but this will be my first time living in the city, San Francisco! I'm a little nervous. A little excited. My place is rather small, so I need to continue getting rid of things so it will fit.
Still, I think it will be a good year. ^_^

One of these things is not like the other. They're alike - they're all musicians from countries other than the US! biggrin Quote: (my husband is not impressed with the idea of Star Trek Live. I am bouncing for it and Ira Glass) Would that I could show you my favourite Star Trek live thing ever, but I cannot for the life of me find it online. If you ever get a chance to see The Frantics' Paul Chato and Rick Green do their skit Every Episode of Star Trek in Under 3 Minutes, watch it. Seriously. I still giggle thinking about it. 3nodding Edit: Also also, unrelated to Nuri, but important anyway - if you need anything from me, as far away as I am physically, lemme know, Cu. I'll do what I can. Many hugs and much support. heart
