TheDisreputableDog I'm moving! My girlfriend and I found an adorable apartment in one of our favorite parts of the city. We had looked at a larger apartment in the same building but another couple got there first; but the landlord liked us and offered us a smaller one that the previous tenants had just vacated. We both walked in expecting something a lot smaller than what we found, made silly faces at each other, and took the lease home that night. We're on the second floor and we can put plants and a compost bin on the fire escape landing, and flower boxes on the windows, and plant in the actual ground around the back of the house. And we can finally get a dog. We get the keys in a few weeks. I am SO excited. That is always so exciting and I'm happy for you! My fiancée* and I just moved into a new two bedroom apartment in our favorite part of the city that we live in as well. It's right across the street from a large lake and park. They have festivals almost every weekend, a farmer's market with fresh produce every Sunday morning. I'm just sad that I've lost a balcony as I grow my own herbs and now they have to stay inside... just means I'll pamper them more. My fiancée* and I have been looking at getting a french bulldog or a boston terrier, preferably from a rescue. What sort of dog have you been thinking of? *edit: I'm an idiot. Not boyfriend, my fiancée. Still getting used to that.

I'm home! At my new home. Apparently, while I was gone, the moving van faeries came and MOVED MY ENTIRE APARTMENT.
I came home to find I needed to go to the new house instead.
My weekend is good. I was in charge of money and yet, I locked my keys in the car TWICE.

I love it when the universe helps me out.
I woke up this morning feeling cold, sleepy and miserable and shortly afterward started crying (thanks, hormones!) over past academic trauma. Since this was unacceptable for a workday I made some tea, watered the new lavender plant and took a quiet moment to pray out on the back porch. Went to work feeling reasonably okay and able to handle the stress.
Three hours later a woman donates a bunch of used books to the library, including two tarot books and The Complete Encyclopedia of Signs and Symbols. SCORE. I know what I'm doing this afternoon. biggrin Thanks, world!

Yanueh I think I've discovered one of the strangest fetishes ever. Dragons having sex with cars. Lolwhut??? I've seen that website. Well, one of them, anyway. Oddly, the dragon art wasn't bad - but the desperate need to be that close to their cars was a little scary. xd

So like, today for the first time in awhile, I'm feeling some financial security.
Deposited the Federal Income Tax refund, and lo and behold, I already have enough in my regular checking for the apartment and the car! And I have like two more paychecks coming this month! So I paid off the credit card and deposited the rest in the savings account!
Like, for the rest of the month, I can put HALF of my paycheck in my savings and still spend my normal amount per week and still make rent and car.
And starting next week, I'll be getting 40 shared aide hours, and I get a dollar extra per hour for shared aide visits! Plus my ten hours per week for this one guy in Perinton (don't really like him, when he passes i'm not going to refill those hours) means I'll be getting paid well for the next couple of months at least.
Another blessing I have to count is the wonderful relationship I have with Norman. It's really blossomed into something more than I expected. Love is a decision, and I think we both made a good one.
