Sorry I haven't been around much lately. I got furloughed from my job, and replacements are hard to come by. It's left me in a mood and I don't want to inflict that on anyone here.

Sorry to hear about your job. I hope you find a new one soon.

Does anyone have an infodump or a link or a something linking to the oath that the deities of the Gael made to the people that only are allowed to worship them?

If I remember correctly, it's never been directly quoted here. We've simply been told a rough location but it's so thick in poetic metaphor that it's almost unreadable in English for what it is. I think you can find it in the "This is a stupid question" thread somewhere (I know it's been brought up multiple times).

But no I don't think there's an infodump.

The only pagan things husband goes to is meetups of people here. He thinks the folks are here are a little ....off. I don't blame him.

From the pagan types that I've met in the past when I was helping run a pagan club for my university, I can definitely see where he might think they're off.

Yay! Do you know what style? Mine seems very generic bellydance, but I'm trying to learn fusion styling.

Egyptian cabaret.Although, I love love love love love the way the tribal fusion looks. biggrin
How long have you been dancing for?

Three years. It's such a blast, and I'm finally getting decent at it.

I hope to incorporate belly dancing as my form of fun/exercise. I hate going to the gym or being on a treadmill, but I desperately need something that's physically fun. Ballroom used to be it, but 30+ hours a week plus being a full time university student and managing a part time job kinda wears you out.

How often do you go to classes/practice? Has it become a big part of your daily life or do you do it when you feel like it/suits you?

I have some friends who incorporate dance into ritual. Does dance ever play a part into your spirituality/religion/practice?

(I don't mean to be prying, I'm only curious.)

My full time job wears me out, so I understand you.

Once a week, and I'll hit up the drop in classes every so often.I'm in the advanced class, which focuses on technique. I'm really trying to convince my body that it wants to do fusion stylings, but I bounce a lot.

Yeah, it's pretty daily. I read bhuz at work, and tribe at home, I look for costume and choreography ideas all the time, I'm not in our troupe, but I support the studio all the time.

It's also one of my big social activities now.

Very much so. I see my classes as a devotional to Dionysos, and when I have room to do so, I use dance as a meditation/trance/act of worship.

...this is yet another reason I can't wait to move. I'll have room to do all this again.

*snugs* heart

I know all about that mood. I've been in a similar one for quite a while myself - which also explains my major lurker status of late.

I hope that you are able to find a new job soon.

OMG ANIME BOSTON IS IN A WEEK! biggrin

So, um, what are the odds things'll get weird, considering I'm staying with a guy where we've got this mutual-crush situation but he refuses to act on it? sweatdrop

I've always loved going to Anime Boston and I'm gonna miss it this year. As for weirdness...? Nah. Lots and lots of flirting, sure. wink

I remember, 2 years ago, I didn't bother getting my tickets early. Worst. Idea. Ever.
Waited in line from 10 am to 10 pm and ended up missing the AMVs... nevermind the entire day. Blech.

Oh, we already do that. xD And I sometimes stray into accidental tease territory. And sometimes intentional tease. ninja

Yeah, I heard about that. The same guy invited me then too but I couldn't make it. Was grateful later, when I found out about the ridiculous lines that day. sweatdrop

Belly dancing class was absolutely amazing! I haven't had that much fun dancing in such a long time.

It was pleasantly wayyy harder than I thought it was going to be. I had the absolute hardest time with reverse figure eights.
