Byaggha Calelith Which threads made you realize this?
All of them! The forum just reminds me so much of Weird Al music...today it's You Make Me, last time it was Dare to be Stupid. biggrin Good point, though lately there seems to be this huge influx of "I'm a specul snowflake" threads. stare
Especially that girl that thought she caused the Earthquake in Chile, and made TWO threads about it.

I think she's also discovered, as of 3am and some youtube videos, that she's a telekene. Or maybe that was someone else; they sort of blend together after awhile. Also, You Make Me is sort of a wacky love song, really. 3nodding The forum is great fun, but it does occasionally drive me to heights of GAH I've never reached before. Yeah that was her with the youtube videos
God she is like the perfect poster child for Mr. Dark syndrome..and "specul snowflake" syndrome as well.
I love just about every Weird Al song and yes You Make Me is a wacky love song...but it works great for the forum as well.

Hey, didn't know where to put this, so I figured I'd place it in the chat thread, rather then make a post which would just clutter up the place.
I created a new guild, though I want to make it clear that it's not in any way in competition with this one. It's called "The Norse Hof", and it's somewhere around, oh say, HERE.
I was looking for Norse Recon/Asatru/Heathen themed guilds and didn't find many. Those I did find seemed to be largely inactive (I still haven't heard back on being accepted in or not), and not focused on what I wanted to do.
Rather then focus as a discussion group, though I wouldn't mind some of that as well, "The Norse Hof" is intended more as "on-line sacred space" for worship to the Norse Pantheon.
Any questions, feel free to PM me. Everyone's welcome. 3nodding

I've been trying to get my head around New Age beliefs. It's not so easy, since terms are poorly defined and beliefs are incredibly disparate and varied. People talk about vibrational levels, but there seems to be no consensus on what's vibrating.
So far, the New Age movement seems to attract the fluffiest of the fluffy and the speshulest of the speshul snowflakes, especially where the Indigo Children concept is concerned.
You run into some people who think that having any negativity, ever, is an awful thing. Even thinking about negative things is bad because you'll attract them to you, even if you don't want them in your life. Spirit help you if you ever have a bad thought about anything ever, because that's judgment, and judgment is bad.
Oh, and another thing I'm noticing is that people keep talking about "discernment," which appears to be their way of using judgment without invoking that dreaded J-word.
Fortunately, they aren't all that fluffy, and I've run across some individuals whose brains aren't so full of "light and love" that they can no longer rub two braincells together. razz In 2 Worlds is run by one of these people, and I'm really finding her material interesting so far.

You also run into the whole idea of "if you've experienced it, it's true and a deep, spiritual experience". So you get the people who have cried over the deep, spiritual joy of recognizing that the earth is a ball-just like a tennis ball!- and humans are the racket after watching a tennis match on TV.
You also get the people who have never questioned whether an experience is real, like one women I met who had written 6 books on communication with her guardian angels, who are really aliens in disguise come to "awaken" the earth to a higher plane of existence.
I don't like the New Age movement. It's great that for some people, it helps them become more spiritual and open-minded than they were before, but it really just seems to justify the fluffiness of people by telling them that those who can't accept their flaming spirituality are closed-minded.
