Aww tea. sad I hope she comes back soon!

How have I spent 4 years on gaia, and yet in that time, earned such a pitiful amount of gold? Lol! xd I am saving up for Poseidons legacy!

Well, I've been a member since November of 03, and I'm still quite poor. Some of my things have been donated to me, and I donate most of my gold off... I think... in total, I may have donated at least a million to various friends. Currently working on getting an item for a friend, as well as one for me though...

Squee, it arrived!

I officially have a small piece of paper with my name on it that says I done survived nursing school. It, along with my marriage license, are about the best 8 1/2" by 11" pages I have ever owned.

I would hug it, but I am afraid of crushing it. 3nodding

I've been thinking about a career in this particular field. However, I'm just not sure if I can or not. I have some picky things about the medical field, so I'd have look into anything first before I just jump into it.

I really like Rosetta Stone, although I still feel there was a lot more clicking around than actual understanding. Also, sometimes the talking lessons were a little strange, and can be fooled by blowing into the microphone.

Yeah, there is a lot of picture clicking. I take it that they're trying to get me to associate images with words and their meanings, which is fine. I would like a little more talking, though. I just started so I'll probably get into that more later on. I really wish there was more instruction on pronunciation because German words that start with r are really difficult!

Which language were you doing?

I was using the Russian one.

Yeah, I wish they would've introduced the alphabet and sounds first, because it took forever to remember what the words looked like. They do eventually go over the sounds and the letter combinations, and it helps a lot.

The coolest thing is that even though I can't put together a sentence in Russian, whenever I hear someone speak Russian on television, I can recognize words. Conjugated words.

How far in did you go before you stopped? I'm worried now because if you used it a lot but couldn't put together a sentence, I am going to consider returning it. sweatdrop

I used it on and off for about three weeks or so. And I can put together simple sentences (or, at least, I could before I stopped practicing and forgot), like "The cat walks" or "The boy eats rice." But nothing like "Where is the bathroom?". When I stopped, the clues were in whole, correct sentences, and I could decode them, but I just couldn't put them together on my own.

They were things like "The woman is wearing a blue hat" or "The boys are writing, while the girls are reading".

I see. This is what I was worried about- there's no real grammatical instruction besides the immersion aspect. Then again 3 weeks isn't a lot so maybe it will have that in the later levels...?

Calelith: Yeah, for just the first three levels. And that was with a 10% discount. On the one hand that's cheaper and more convenient than going to a 4 yr. college every day. On the other, it's only good if it works.

That's what I thought with Tagalog, but unfortunately my mom is usually pretty busy. sweatdrop
