What? I'm not allowed to like metal? biggrin

Quote:
A decent show? Like they're going to dance for us or something? biggrin And thrash is just like metal only faster, right? Aren't they all thrash metal?

I dunno, they may dance. Sometimes lead singers get excited and jump around...they may crowdsurf, there will be mosh...lots of fun. 3nodding

Yeah, thrash is really fast metal. Lots of speed and energy to it, very fun stuff.

Technically, I think Megadeth fits into classic Heavy Metal - maybe protothrash or thrash genre pioneeers, just due to age. The other two are definitely thrash though. Either way, the concert is going to freaking rock!

Quote:
I'm not really a Metal-Head as you can tell, but my boyfriend is and he's extremely excited about me going to this. He's wanting to buy me steel-toed boots and Metal-Head attire just for the occasion. redface

I'd do it, but I've always wanted the 'I'm with the band' look. 3nodding

Quote:
Even if I don't like the music, I know I'm going to have fun at this!

You totally will. Metal fans are like nothing else I've ever seen. The concerts can only be described accurately as total warfare on the senses - they're really cool. biggrin

Quote:
And besides being trampled, I'm mostly concerned about my BS during the show. I was planning on taking maybe a bag of skittles to eat during everything. Yet we're not sure how that'll work out with the enviroment around me.

Take the foods and see how it is. Worst comes to it, you just need to wait for changing of the acts to get a bit in. You should be fine though - take a big bag and share with people! biggrin

Quote:
I think they'll be much better live, though.

Most metal acts are. While they sound great recorded, you really need the full assault brought to you by a concert with their fans surrounding you to really love them. 3nodding

Quote:
As I've said before, I'm not much of a Metal-Head. Though, I'm slowly letting it grow on me because of my boyfriend who only listens to Metal.

Hillariously, I liked it first in my house. I'm the music nerd around here. But a video game, of all things, gave my husband a severe love for the genre as a whole - go play Brutal Legend if you can. You'll understand. biggrin

Quote:
So far I really LOVE Mastodon, Opeth, Volbeat, some Machinehead and a few selected others. It's still way different then what he listens to, but he's proud of me for making an effort. Especially considering it's a far cry from the music I prefer. 3nodding

Wow, death metal stuff, eh? I'm more a power metal junkie, but some of that stuff amazes me. biggrin

Mastodon amuses me, mainly because they were in the Aqua Teen Hunger Force movie - they're the angrier ones here. Very funny. Husband now can't listen to them without picturing the band looking like this.

Oh right, song not suitable for small children or workplaces. 3nodding

That game is awesome! It gave me a whole new appreciation of the genra. I'm still not much of a one for death metal, or any song where the lyrics are screamed instead of spoken or sung.

My first metal concert was Avenged Sevenfold (hubby favorite band), Buckcherry, Papa Roach and Saving Able. We had awesome seats and I found a new band that I love. Papa Roach and Avenged Sevenfold put on an awesome stage show, Saving Able and Buckcherry were kinda ehh for me though.
I'm very happy that we got to see Avengend Sevenfold when we did too, the drummer, The Rev, died about a month ago. He was one of the founding members and one of the most amazing drummers I've ever heard. The band will never be the same again, if they even continue to make music.

Yay! There's a little clump of daffodils starting to come up in the back garden. We didn't know they were there, so it's a nice surprise. Also, the carrots on my food shelf are sprouting. Yay for not being sprayed with nasty growth inhibitors! And incentive to eat them soon. smile

Alas...I am so jealous. We in the Northeast are being battered by a snowstorm right now...or at least, we're supposed to be...it's not really getting that bad out yet.

Today's high was 34. The low is like... 22 for tonight. Biggest snowstorm that's gone through Arkansas in... years, since probably 1996 when I was a little kid. Fun stuff, I even made an awesome Schneemann (snowman) that had grass for hair and green puffs for eyes.
