Oh- if folks are interested, I made a cake today. It was a Butter-Raspberry-Blueberry cake.
I don't have eggs so I used bananas.

Tribal Fusion in Memphis

I do a whole bunch of everything right now. My solo is tribal fusion, my group/class peice is Egyptian Cane dancing/ Raks Assaya. So far I haven't hurt anyone with my shiny shiny blue cane.

I live on the border of KY next to TN, which is why I say both. To be more precise, Todd County.

Also, that site looks awesome! If I can find no other classes closer to me, I will totally trek 4 hours to get there. It's worth it.

Swagger cane (Fiddler TM)? I didn't even know that you could belly dance with canes. xd If I ever get good at this, I'd like to dance with fire.

Nami: you might try checking a local YWCA (if you have one near you). That's where I took my first couple classes.

I looked, but we only have a YMCA somewhat close to us if I'm reading it right.

So far, all I see are Boy Scouts events. ):

I've never really loved my major as much as I do right now. I really, really love my major! I'm going to be writing a major research paper on the fusion of folk music in the metal, rock and classical genres in Lithuanian, given I can find any books on Lithuanian folk music in English. I have so far found 3 books on the subject translated into English, but they're all out of print! So now it's time for me to work my contacts in the Romuva community and see if anyone has these books, and if they'd be willing to send them to me for a few months. Otherwise I'm going to be spending spring break with a Lithuanian - English dictionary, as my Lithuanian is still at the "hello, thank you, where's the bathroom?" stage of my knowledge of the language. Thankfully I have found a book on alternative music festivals in Lithuania, which should really help, and I'll be ordering it as soon as I get to ok from my prof to do this topic. This is gonna take some crazy research, but it'll so be worth it!

Here's the kind of thing I hope to work with: Folk rock and fire dancing!
