i'm still emotionally scarred from trying to learn long-division in 3rd grade. sweatdrop
I never did figure out how that works. But that's what calculators are for. *shrug*

we are not allowed calculators gonk gonk gonk
They're a pretty standard for my LD in classes that don't otherwise allow them. Teachers worry more about me being able to use the process and showing my work than being able to do the arithmetic without screwing up. *shrug*

my instructor believes that we're far too dependent on calculators, and he is right, but any time i have to do math i will have a calculator at hand, even if it's just the one on my cell phone. ninja

There is now a thread up focusing on Moral Relativism in detail. Please, comment, pick it apart, etc. smile

Next project: Thomism, and the Compatibility of Reason and Faith (or, Why Questioning Our Beliefs is A Good Thing.)

Yeah, so an extra $200 next week. And possibly they'll repeat it the rest of the month.

In other news, my department and queue will be hiring in February, 12 deposit reps.

Sorry Nuri, I need my Ocean.

Yeah, not a fan of most internet culture. IMO, being online doesn't make the communication any less 'real'--there's still another person on the other end. People using relative anonymity and lack of accountability to be jerks piss me off.

Plus, internet communication? Far easier and less likely to trigger my anxiety. Provided I'm not the one initiating conversations, at least. *shrug*

It's real communication, just not as encompassing as in person. I can't communicate online. I rely on scent and motion cues, which I don't get online.
I do sympathize with the anxiety issues. I would not suggest that people lose their comfortable means of communication.

Patch, I could not bring my sword with me, so I cannot live there. There are other reasons, but none are really polite other than my love of my own Homeland.

Why couldn't you bring your sword?

I chalk it up to older people being afraid of technology. Embrace the new, people. I highly doubt anyone's gonna bother to do long division with pencil and paper anymore. *shrug* That calculator is there for a reason.

The days have been longer without your daily jolts. We are a set you and I, and your absence is very noted. Your arrival cannot come soon enough. It boggles my mind that you are almost here, but you feel so much further away.

When I bring you into this cold, you'll see just how warm we can be together. I promise.

A fusion of fire fan dancing and belly dance. Check it out on youtube, it looks like so much fun!
