Gho the Girl Bastemhet I am getting really, really irritated that the only link to any discussion on Kemetic religion in the M&R stickies is one that points to KO which in the first paragraphs calls itself a reconstructionist religion and also equates modern belief and practice with ancient belief and practice. stressed No, no, no, no, no. I am working on putting together a primer but obviously it will take some time since I can't just go to some website and copy and paste some information that's been predigested for me. Blah...I wonder if it's even worth it to post in the M&R. Who knows? If you feel it should be said to them, the say it.
I don't think there's any point commenting on the thread itself since it was made in '08, but it might be of worth to at least have other viewpoints that let people know that no, there is no unified group of Kemetic practitioners, but a variety of different temples, approaches, and interpretations, some of which object to the blatant ignorance of KO's own practitioners that don't even recognize that it is not reconstructionist but revivalist. stressed

TeaDidikai Illiezeulette ...I think I'm starting to hate Christmas. Opening presents should not make me feel distressed and upset. I don't want to be the person who hates Christmas. I wish nobody would give me presents just to give me presents because of some holiday. What I want can't be bought with money. Any desire to try and salvage this?
Absolutely.
I asked my mother to only get me one gift for Christmas. I had the most gifts under the tree. I mean, that's nice of course, but I don't need them and I don't want them and they feel less like gifts and more like burdens. I know that they were given to me out of a sense of obligation and/or to make me happy and I appreciate any heartfeltedness, but there is a strong feeling of DO NOT WANT THINGS and definitely a better approach to heartfeltedness, imo.
I meant what I said when I said that I seriously only wanted ONE present. I shall have a speakage with my mother sometime later about this issue so that I am taken a bit more seriously.
I am thinking of donating things to nice little organizations that help underprivileged people. That way I can retain the happiness associated with other people wanting me to be happy whilst sharing material goods with others.
Asceticism is creepering on me slowly but surely.
