That's why I never go there. I have no problem with debate; I have a problem with debating against self-righteous assholes who are already convinced they are incapable of error.

neutral It's the first frost of the year today.

gonk IT'S SO COLD. Gahhh, I have a bad cold tolerance anyway; but I fear my ears may actually drop off! I'm considerin purchasing earmuffs for the first time in my life.

blaugh However, the coldness, and the time of year now makes it acceptable for me to drink spices tea like it's gone out of fashion. OM NOM NOM.

heart Even better!
I'M GOING TO SEE THE BODIES REVEALED EXHIBITION!

I was so upset when I missed that when it came through here. I kept asking my husband to take me and everytime we tried something happened. Our car broke down, one of us was sick, their was an accident that shut down the highway. We ended up deciding that we just weren't supposed to see it.

I am hatching plans to make a Doctor Who themed tarot deck for myself (because I am a huge geek, and recently obsessed). I already know the two-through-tens of the suits are going to be the hardest to make, but the concepts at least for the court cards and major arcana are coming along.

I'm struggling a little with accepted symbology from Rider-Waite type decks, because I'm most familiar with approximations of RW but a lot of those cards' symbols (Hebrew letters, angels, astrology...) are basically meaningless to me and I don't often pay attention to them when I'm reading. I don't want to simply airlift them into my own deck, but if I don't have them I may not be making a tarot deck, but I'd rather let the particular energy that I feel in resonance with the show find its way into the deck than attempt to force it into "traditional" correspondences.

If I was artisticly inclined and skilled enough, I would totally make a "Legend of the Five Rings" themed tarot deck; I know all the stories by heart so I could totally make something that works.

FORTUNATELY for me, one of my favorite artists for the CCG is making a Tarot deck, and she has a very nice, otherwordly style with a bit of an Asian flavor to her over all style....I'm REALLY looking foreward to that deck!

Heh, I'm having trouble with Captain Jack...in Doctor Who I'd say he's the Knight of Wands, but in Torchwood he comes off more as the King of Swords. I guess it's a question of whether I'm doing just the one show or the whole Whoniverse, and whether I want to emphasize the rake or the commander. And, I suppose, whether I have anyone else who fits either card better.

I would hazzard an opinion, but all I know about Dr. Who is that 11 actors have played him....THANK YOU 1 VS 100! mrgreen

Why not just make an oracle deck, then? No need to try and fit something into a framework that has no meaning for you. In fact you might come up with a much more significant deck by allowing yourself to work with the story and how it wants to manifest itself.

I have a day off tomorrow! And I'm going to sleep in and go see Fantastic Mr. Fox and it will be totally worth having to work this past sunday and working overtime on friday.

I'll just keep telling myself that.

We've already had snow here and I'm already sick of it. razz

But then, today it was warm enough to go outside without my hoodie, so, well...Nebraska's just weird I guess.

We had snow the morning after Thanksgiving. It was just a little dusting, but it was nice. biggrin

I will definitely be sick of it by March or so when it's nothing but grey and black slush on the road.
