Kojin noticed the bird flapping over head. Circling them like a buzzard watching its prey die. As kojin watched the bird, he heard footsteps and relocated his attention to whoever was running towards them. Hello, can we help you? Kojin asked as he flipped his sword over to where the blade was hanging by his leg to indicate he wouldn't attack yet have it out in case he needed it.

Ian blinked,
"Oh, uhm, I'm Ian Izuki and I'm here to take the bishops exam. . ."
Beth dived out of the sky and landed back on her shoulder, Ian stumbled, she didn't have enough energy to support bother her own weight and Beth's after the trek. Brushing Beth off her shoulder, she turned back to look at the group.

Noticing how tired Ian was, Kojin walked to his hawkzile, reached into his bag, and pulled out a canteen. Here. Drink up. Your gonna need as much as you can get for the bishop exams. Pulling out his badge, kojin showed it to Ian.I am a bishop. (Kojin never actually took the exam, but Ian didn't know that.) Kojin said hoping it would convince ian to drink without refusal.

Ian faltered at the offer, her mistrust kicking in instinctively.
"Ah. . .I mean no offense, mister Bishop, but I would prefer not to diminish your supplies. . ."
Ian had concluded that the group were leaving for a journey. On journeys, water tended to be a rather important resource - She learnt that the hard way.
"I would like it if you were to provide me a break down of where and how to take the exams though. But if that would hinder your. . .journey, then by all means, pay me no heed."

First of all, I packed more water than needed for such an occasion. And second, you know about as much as I do in the exams. I was a special case. I'm sorry I can't be of any help. He said rubbing the back of his head with a big smile. But, please, do have a drink. I would feel bad if I let you go on without some. He held out the canteen again.

She would have pulled something from the holy text but she was tired and her brain didn't function well when tired. Ian took a drink from the canteen and passed it back to the boy.
"Thank you. I will be on my way now."
She turned and headed towards the church, hoping to find out a bit more about the exam before she took it.

Before Ian left, Kojin asked If you don't mind me asking, Why are you planning on becoming a bishop?

Ian paused, she had never been asked that question, or rather, she hadn't even asked herself that question. Of course, she could spill out her childhood sob story, but she'd rather die than have someone pity her. So she settled for the cryptic answer.
"If I had to put it down to one thing. I'd say fate."
She gave a cheeky grin and turned, she looked around once more and murmured to herself.
"Now. . .where to find someone to help. . ."

Kojin tilted his head in confusion. That's a strange one. Kojin said crossing his arms. Just as Kojin was about to get on his hawkzile, He heard someone yelling his name from the church. It was one of the nuns he had come to meet. Kojin! I have a message. She stopped in front of him and took a breath. Apperently the pope had heard of your "exeption" (not knowing what that was) and he forbid you to use your new badge until you earn it. So you and everyone else have been asked to stay until the exams are over. Kojin smiled and looked at his badge. Looking back up at the nun he saidAlright. Kojin looked at the others and said, Looks like we're stuck fo a while. With that kojin walked his hawkzile to the courtyard and proceeded to unpack.

The presence of someone other than her made Ian whip his head around, only to the the boy at the gate. He seemed to have stopped his journey for one reason or another.
"What brings you back here?"
She was still seriously lost, and keeping Lirica from landing on other people's heads' had proven to be difficult. She had sent the bird off a few minutes ago, no doubt she would return later with something interesting in her beak.

Technical difficulties. Why? Kojin noticed the hawk come flying in and swooped right over his head. He ducked and watched it fly out again. Funny bird. He said smiling.

Lirica had flown back with a branch of nightshade berries, and would have eaten it if the brach hadn't been snatched away.
"Lirica you bratty owl. That's poisonous."
She grinned at the boy's compliment,
"She's a handful to take care of, this one."

Ian, who was already halfway across courtyard, paused. She turned back, casting her eyes down and mumbled to herself.
"I'm not good with my people skil-"
"Well then you have to start learning. Nice to see you caught up brat."
"I'm not a brat."
"Says the brat. Well, at any rate, go get unpacked then hunt for a partner. You're not allowed to do this one alone. . .Lyra."
She glowered at the bishop with murder written all over her face before heading off to find her room.
"Damn geezer. . .I swear, next time he pulls a stunt like that off, I'll either poison his food or burn his books. . ."
