Sophist, have you tried ocean sounds before?
I have difficulty sleeping without them.

I prefer the rain or waterfall sounds for sleeping because the rhythm is relatively constant compared to the ebb and flow of ocean waves. The more discernable pattern of ocean waves distracts me while the constancy of waterfalls and rain lulls me. Similarly I find thunder storm sounds to be relaxing, but the unpredictability of the thunder is too distracting to use as a sleeping aid. The same with the desert sounds I found. The crickets were constant, and the sound of the breeze soothing, but the random interjections of animal calls made it unsuitable as a sleep aid.

Also, this may seem odd, but I don't like the ocean. Its vastness and depth scare me. I much prefer the ground, tyvm.

...I neglected to study for my test in ten minutes. Whoops. lol It shouldn't be too bad but Egyptian names are kind of confusing, especially when there can be up to four people of the same name.

Good fortune Sophist.
For my part, I find living at the land's end to be very comforting. Especially in case of zombies.

And then you get on a boat and go to a remote island that is also populated with zombies! gonk crying gonk crying gonk I hated that movie! I had by head buried under a pillow and blanket for almost the entirety of the movie. Then, they were safe...but not!

Ditto. Actually, I'm like that with any body of deep water. Even the deep end of a swimming pool, which is why I don't swim. gonk

Oh, who would go to land?
Maybe for brief stops, but not long, zombies may walk the bottom of the ocean. Desalination and hydroponics are your friend. 3nodding

Thanks. I don't think I did too well. Plus, there were only 14 questions, 4 of which were essay and worth half the test.

Not coo. emo

See, the ocean scares me, but swimming pools bore me. I probably go swimming once every summer. It's like, "OK...I splashed...and I swam around. See you again next year."

DX The pool is my favorite place to be, in the summer. I think I might like the beach more if my friends were in to taking naps, as it always seems that my energy drains right out of me as soon as I set foot on the beach. Warm sand, salt air, and the rhythmic sound of the ocean is the perfect scenario to lull me into a blissful sleep. ^^

Packing. I hates it.

Events should pack for themselves.

GAH! I feel like I've been sneezing constantly today! I really hope I don't have a cold, though if I do, this is the weekend to get it lol Next weekend is our faire, and I'm a herald, so I really can't screw up my voice. Plus, my fiancee will be visiting next week! So no being sick!!!!!

Good luck with packing, Nuri.

I just haven't had very good experiences with the beach. Both times were on vacation. Hawaii meant hanging onto a floaty thing, being dehydrated, and almost getting sun stroke. Mexico meant going on a banana boat and continually falling off because some idiot on the back kept bobbing up and down to ******** with people. Then I had to swim 10 feet to the shore, with huge breaking waves, and me too scared and stupid to duck and squeeze my nose shut every time the waves came crashing down on me in mini-drowning episodes.

...actually I pretty much hate the beach. stare Though I will admit snorkeling in a fish filled reef is pretty cool.

GAH! i hate the beach (ironic that i live on one) but don't get me wrong, it makes for a lovely postcard, but the sand, the salt the sunburn and the things that try to eat me... no thanks, lol. pools tend to bore me as well, but i do really like those 'lazy river' things. just hop on a float and ride the current in a safe nothing-will-eat-you environment.
