So, I've been reading The First Alcibiades by Plato over the last couple of days. I've never felt so stupid, humbled and yet enlightened at the same time. Could we make it required reading to be here?

On another note:
Plagiarize,
Let no one else's work evade your eyes
Don't forget why the good Lord made your eye
But plagiarize! Plagiarize! Plagiarize!
But always remember to call it, please, research.

Plato is fun. But can seem offensive.

I'm glad someone else has heard that song. surprised

You know, considering my neighbour, young neighbour, has just purchased a trombone but has net yet learned to do aught with it other than (convincingly mind you) impersonate the call of a pachyderm suffering constipation, I'm in remarkably good spirits.

Yes, I suppose >.>

I grew up listening to Tom Lehrer! My parents had him as a calculus prof at UC Santa Cruz or something.

Apparently, when I'm singing a different version of "Hate That I Love You", I sound like a sheep. gonk

That wasn't discouragement, just an observation. wink

Yes, he was a teacher there, good from what I have heard.

My elementary school music instructrix compared my singing voice to the sound of a dying vulture in heat. 3nodding

Recursive Paradox
It's difficult being omniromantic but not pansexual. >.<

So, seriously, how does that work?
You enjoy the attention and non-sexual interactions of all persons, however, you are much more focussed in who you like to be physically intimate with?

Sorta. Mostly that I find myself having the deep love and caring and sense of trust for people you normally get in romantic love but absolutely no sexual attraction whatsoever. It's the situation a lot of ace (asexual) folk get into when they fall in love.

I identify it by being a situation in which I love them and wish I was sexually attracted to them (for that intimacy) but am not.

Oh my goodness. Recently found white noise waterfall, rain, and night sound music. I can't believe how nice and relaxing this is as background noise. surprised

Generally, I am a pretty good singer, it's just that song.

Though my vocal teacher once called me the enemy of rhythm because I couldn't keep my singing at the same beat as his tabla (Indian drum). rofl

I am seeing.
So, does this lack of interest in sexual intimacy, does this include most physical intimacy (I have observed some people take snuggling, for example, as sexual, others don't)?

Sophist, have you tried ocean sounds before?
I have difficulty sleeping without them.

I suffer from CRD, so I can understand how the ridicule might feel.
Methinks even the greats have at least one or two examples of their art they have difficulties with.

How does romantic love without sexual attraction differ from simply being very close friends?

xD On the bright side, the trombone is an instrument where one can quickly build enough proficiency so as not to make such horrid noses. The clarinet, now...*shudders.*

Ah.
Well, I do wish her grand progress, and that she find a place other than our apartments to practice... the walls are thin. sweatdrop
