I think my mom forgot to put pectin in one of the jams stressed

My fault for going to the bathroom.

So make that 3 batches of peach jam and one batch of peach.... ice cream topping?

Nope. After tasting it I'm almost sure it's rubus occidentalis, the black raspberry, since it's very dark red near black in in colour and tastes neither like a red raspberry or a blackberry, which is a characteristic of the black raspberry.

interesting, i have never had a black raspberry... or a red one for that matter sweatdrop

good luck with your jams and... ice cream topping.... wow peaches over vanilla sounds really good right now, lol.

Ouch that stinks. Speaking of bed. I need to be off that way myself. Have a good afternoon.

Hooray for Farmer's Markets. Fresh apple cider with no preservatives? Freshly made hummus? Quail? HELL YES.

I've been avoiding the farmer's market the past few weeks 'cause of Husker games. Downtown is crazy on game days and it scares me. gonk

I have also managed to obtain a copy of the New Testament. Another book in my growing religion bookshelf. ninja
I have a pocket copy of the NKJV New Testemant around here somewhere. With the verses that supposedly say homosexuality is a sin highlighted. It was put in my backpack by a member of the Campus Crusade for Christ after she found out I like girls. ninja

XD If that had been me and I knew who it was, I'd look for the 'judge not lest ye be judged'/'Leave the judging to the professionals, darling' lines and highlight those for him/her.

Being considerate is an art.

But since I don't know the Bible by heart, it's entirely possible those aren't actually in the NT, let alone this version of it.

The main 'homosexuality is a sin' verses are in the OT - I'm thinking Numbers or Deuteronomy, I may be mistaken. I also believe that one of Paul's letters mentions it, but there's also quite a bit in the gospels about 'love thy neighbor', 'judge not lest ye be judged', and, my personal favorite, 'let him who is without sin cast the first stone'. The problem as I see it isn't the verses themselves, it's the followers' interpretation thereof.

Really? Best I can usually come up with is Cornish hens and rabbit.

Yes well, I'm still learning how to cook properly, so I'm not capable of cooking whole rabbits and roosters (other meats they had).

Which translation?

It says "Recovery Version" on the front. confused

I asked once why they didn't hand out the OT, too, so I could get the set, and they never really told me.

Well, the catch was that I had to join their club and attend their first meeting. xD
They didn't use anything from the OT in their sermon discussion. Maybe some Christians are realizing that technically they shouldn't be following the OT?

Our school has several Christian organizations. The one I joined is the more liberal one, while the Crusaders are generally the more conservative ones.

Which leads my bisexual friend, helping out the Gay organization with their booth on club day, who has a disdain for Christians in general, to go to the registration desk, which is right in front of the Crusaders booth. He then, as he told me, emphasized that he was representing the gay club, showed the icon to both parties, and gave a grin to the Crusaders. rofl

My school has a gay organization - their mission is to "get homosexuals the counciling and therapy they need to overcome their struggle and live a life in concordance with Catholic doctrine."

Needless to say, not a fan. The head of the sociology department has been trying for a while to recruit me in her struggle to fix it, but my personal circumstances have kept me away from her. Next semester I'll be taking one of her courses; hopefully we can get started.

You know, I started out being pretty facetious with that whole on field animal sacrifice thing I was pulling in the sports thread in M&R, but now I just want to see if I can get everyone to agree that sprinkling a field with blood is a-ok.

No one ruin my fun. ninja

We've got a few too. The Crusaders, of course, one for GLBTQ students (plus a QSA! whee ), and I think one other, but I'd have to check. From what I hear, the one for GLBTQ students is pretty cool but I've never been. And of course, the Crusaders are the crazies. They'd be fun to mock if they weren't actually taken seriously by people.

Technically, if you go to their site, they shouldn't be calling themselves Campus Crusaders for Christ. All of them are connected and the major governing body said we shalt change our name.
