I feel out of place discussing alcohol, given my limited experience with it. sweatdrop

My apartment is full of alcohol, but we almost never drink it. I picked up a six pack of my favorite (Mikes Hard Limeade, don't judge!) and I haven't had any of it in a week.

Most of the usage of alcohol is ritual for me.
I'm just...not a big drinker. Didn't especially care about it before I could legally drink, and it was never this big taboo growing up. Now? Sure it can be nice to have a drink at the end of a long week or to go out Saturday night and have a few drinks with some friends, but the six-pack of Smirnoff Ice I bought several weeks ago only has one missing, and when I go out, I never have more than one or two drinks.

And I'm not judging. When my parents and I went out for my 21st, my dad ordered Mike's Hard Lemonade for me, and it was pretty tasty. razz

I'm actually much the same way -- I never drank before college, as there was never alcohol in the house, nor a taboo really against it (my mother may be a Southern Baptist, but her aversion was more of not liking the taste. She has fallen in love with Bahama Mama's now).

Hence why when I drink, it's usually ritual. Or an event, which might as well be ritual use.

So. Turns out Runza hadn't called me because their hiring manager was on paternity leave. He comes back tomorrow and the shift manager I spoke to today promised to pass on my name. If anything comes of that application, I should hear about it within a few days. Cross your fingers for me?

And I checked the on- and near-campus job listings. They updated yesterday, and Chipotle's hiring, part-time or full-time, all positions. It's right next to campus, and starts at $7.50/hr, so I'm applying tomorrow. And the Super Saver (discount supermarket) has a bunch of positions open, part-time or full-time--if my academic adviser can give me her daughter's bike I'll be able to apply there. If not, I've at least got a few options that weren't available this summer.

Wish me luck/pray for me/send good vibes/whatever, please? I need all the help I can get.

So, my ex, Norm, contacted me.

He apologised. Yay.

He seems to want to give it another go with me. Um, dunno.

I feel like this is a test . . .

In Ireland, we don't even consider what you guys make as beer.

You make some damned fine middle price and expensive Bourbon, but other than that your alcohol products are viewed as piss.

Samuel Adams isn't piss ninja

Probably the only American beer I've had that has a flavor.

I got to try Mead, or at least what the Renaissance fair calls Mead. Good stuff. I plan to start brewing it, and various beers and ales, as soon as I can get the equipment, and the know-how.

Seems risky. Weren't the biggest issues personality compatibility issues? Those can't really change much.

I promise to use the Guild Announcements only for good. Unless, of course, you want me to use them for evil.

Well, since you can only them once a day, I'm sure you can use it for evil occasionally. xd
