Recent changes in offers of employment might mean Erich goes for Language Theorey, supported by twin minors in English and Japanese and then heading off to the land of the Kami to teach English... eek

Originally, I wanted History for my own sake and to become a teacher. 3nodding

By popular demand, I will post my One of these Faiths is not like the other one rant...
Likely tomorrow, when I am better fed and not so warm.
Sorry about the neglect, I shall have it up soon.

I know when I'm tired I tend to be far more emotional than usual. And that when someone's seriously pissed me off in the past, my temper tends to be on more of a hair-trigger with them.

The sucky part is second-guessing everything I say in these situations, thinking it's got to be overboard, no it's perfectly justified, back and forth, ad nauseum.

It's more exhausting than the actual exhaustion.

I abhor the spelling of 'through' as 'thru.'

I had never seen it until recently. I passed it off as chat-speak. But then it kept popping up. Every time, I would blink and have to re-read the sentence. It trips me up, man! emo

I'm the same way sometimes. I'm a creature of pattern and habit. >.<

It pops up quite a bit in old comics. Stan Lee used it a LOT.

heart I've been reading up on Zoroastrian goodness for some background history in my Islam class, and I totally see it forming already! BTW, is avesta.org a decent site? It seems to be, but I wanna make sure.

Are people here majoring in languages/religion/history? If so, what is it that y'all plan on doing with the majors? I am on a Bio track right now (pre-pharm) but science doesn't interest me all too much. (Well, I love chemical equations, studying genetics, doing experiments, and such. Just, most of it I don't like.) However, the aforementioned areas do. I just don't know what I could do with them to make a living after highschool.

Well, I'm getting a Music BA, which, may or may not get me anywhere in life. But I have a tendency to take too many classes that have nothing at all to do with my major, which is a problem you can get into by going to a liberal arts school if you like too many things. Which is why I've been in school for so damn long. ninja And there's tons of things you can do with any of the major's you've listed!

@ Tea - Are there any kinds of world music and dance centers or something similar in Seattle? I figure there's got to at least be various cultural centers throughout the city, but maybe there's something general too, I dunno. I've been thinking I should look into things like that if we end up moving to Seattle or Portland, since I'm going to end up with a Music BA with emphasis on ethnomusicology... That thought process didn't get to the screen very well, sorry!

^_^ A heresy class would be fun!

Second day of class, and my prof brought up the polytheist vs henotheist vs soft polytheist (though he wasn't sure what to call it... what do you call that? It's been ages since I called it anything but soft polytheism) thing when talking about Egyptian polytheism. I didn't add my views on the topic since he sent the class home wanting to think about it, but my friend looked at me at the end of class and was like "OMG! What's going on! Help!!!!" I think I'm going to like this class!

The people at the Hindu temple I go to refer soft polytheism as inclusive monotheism and the strict one as exclusive monotheism.

@Aino: Nope. I'm in an Urban Planning major. Bachelor's of Environmental Studies. Though, if I had the money and my parents approve. ( stare ), I'd be going straight through with either Cultural Anthropology or Religious Studies.

*sigh* all of a sudden the pictures in my sig are links. They used to be pictures! *grumble*

Good morning everyone.

Also, Aino, I PROMISE that I'll respond in my pathways thread soon. I'm still trying to tackle the question myself.
